Set on a 25 acre private estate surrounded by 1000 acres of protected land --only a short drive away are some of the most picturesque villages in Provençe. Worth mentioning are Les Baux-de-Provence de Provençe, the famous fortified XIV century village as well as Saint-Rémy-de-Provençe, where Vincent Van Gogh painted, and where Nostradamus, the medieval age visionary was born. To the south of the Mas is the 2000-year-old city of Arles, which is famous for its Roman baths, an amphitheater, and an arena. Arles is also the capital of the Camargue region, an area well known for the white wild horses and bullfights.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
