5 out of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in L'Ambiance. Beautiful house, obviously much loved by the owners. 5 stars all round.
James and I have done a lot of travelling but we both agreed that that short weekend in Goult was one of the best breaks we have ever had.
The house was perfect – what a find. We couldn’t imagine a better setting, garden or view and the house itself was so exquisitely decorated…we just could not have asked for more. Would you kindly pass on our sincerest thanks to the owners for sharing their wonderful home with us?
We also loved the village – we actually preferred it to the more celebrated towns of Menerbes and Gordes. Even after 3 days we actually felt like part of the community! The food everywhere was superb – including the little pizzeria and just the general vibe of the place was so utterly calming and relaxing we managed to truly switch off from the pressures of normal life.
And many thanks to you (ONly Provence) too for all your help with co-ordinating things.
We would like to book for next year! We were thinking of 2 weeks. Many thanks again for everything.

Set in the National Park of Luberon, Goult, perched atop a rocky spur, offers breathtakingly beautiful views over the Calavon and Limergue valleys. The village, dominated by its castle, was originally encircled by ramparts, some of which are still standing. Goult is steeped in history and you will take great delight in wandering through its narrow streets with its superbly restored town houses, vaulted passages, arcades, and shaded small squares. Nature lovers can discover different circuits and itineraries through the National Park.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport, then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You could plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon to Gare de Lyon, and getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
