Located just 20 minutes from Aix-en-Provence and 15 minutes from Lourmarin, Bastide des Jardins allows easy access to many tourist attractions in Provence. This is a truly wonderful central location for exploring from Avignon to Cassis, and everywhere between. Additionally, the nearest local village of Rognes offers all the richness of a typical Provence village - lovely restaurants, bakeries, butcher, shops, grocer, and weekly outdoor market.
Situated in a quiet hillside, this property also offers incredible views in all directions. An elaborate 4-acre garden with fountains, formal gardens, trellis-covered walkways and orchards, offers a wide choice of areas to relax quietly or to entertain.
There are a number of hiking trails accessible from the house that connect to an organized network of trails for running, hiking or walking through the Provence countryside.
This property is less suitable for multiple children under 10 years old, but please inquire with interest to discuss further.

Spring 2018:
We have had a splendid visit to this wonderful maison. Our whole family of seven fitted in beautifully and enjoyed every comfort and beauty presented. The only problem was the difficulty of choosing which delightful sitting area to pick. Joceline and Patrick (managers) were ever so helpful and gracious.
We hope to return and sincerely thank you for those past two weeks.

We had a wonderful time in this gorgeous and peaceful villa. No matter where your eyes went, the beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings were breath-taking.
The villa is super-well equipped and we lacked for nothing. Patrick keeps the grounds immaculate and Joceline and Maud kept the villa spotless.

Thank you for two lovely weeks among beautiful greenery, incredible food and great people. We were able to “relax” (as much as possible with four children on site…). We will try our hardest to come again to this magical place!
It was truly one of the best vacations for each one of us ---- a unanimous vote. We actually hated to have to leave. The villa is gorgeous, the grounds are lovely, and the accommodations could not have been better. With the eight of us, there was plenty of room, and it was nice to have the ensuite bathrooms (8 women, you know!!). The reading materials available are extensive, and there were also a number of brochures with information on the surrounding areas, which were very helpful. The décor in the villa is also wonderful --- warm and welcoming ---- a delight to which to return.
Patrick was a great help. He met us promptly on our arrival, and not only for showed us the facilities, but also made us reservations for a couple of restaurants, and was immediately available when we needed (gas canister for the stove). He gave us directions for groceries and for shops in Rognes and Lambesc. The maid was very friendly, and brought us croissants in the mornings, as well as keeping the rooms tidy.
Speaking for all, we would give La Bastide des Jardins 5 stars. Having dealt with Only Provence, I would also give a 5 star rating. The website was easy to access, and had all the information we could possibly use. Your e-mail was also very inclusive and answered any questions we might have had.
We loved the setting and the house and both Patrick and Sylvie were most charming and most helpful. Would rate the property 5 stars.
The only area of improvement that we would suggest is a better house book. When we have rented from other groups (for example Unique Home Stays in the UK or One Fine Stay), they have provided a house book with suggested markets, shops (and their opening times!), restaurants, nearby activities. Would have been extremely helpful to have this handy.
Wonderful vacation and would definitely recommend this house to others.

Rognes is a lovely bedroom community 20 minutes north of Aix-en-Provence. Located halfway between the sophisticated Roman city of Aix and the entry to the Luberon Mountain region, Rognes has a real country feel with rolling hills, a stone village, and different flowers and fields for every season. The landscape is sumptuous with the vineyards of the 10 surrounding wineries.
Getting here:
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport, then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Aix-en-Provence TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You could plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Aix-en-Provence to Gare de Lyon, and getting a cab to your hotel in the city.

Making your reservation: These properties are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, before you reserve, you are required to review and sign a rental agreement for the villa (the “Rental Agreement”). We will send you the Rental Agreement by email. The Rental Agreement explains in detail all of terms and conditions regarding rental and use of the property in detail. We shall have no obligation to accept any reservations, unless the Rental Agreement is fully executed.
Payment: After you have signed the Rental Agreement and filled out the appropriate information, as approved by us, a nonrefundable payment of the one-half (50%) of the Rental Fee (which price is defined in your Rental Agreement) must be received by us within seven (7) days to confirm the reservation. The remaining one-half (50%) of the Rental Fee is due 60 days before the arrival date, and is also non-refundable. If reservations are made less than 60 days prior to the arrival date, then 100% of the Rental Fee must be paid upon the signing of the Rental Agreement. Please know that a failure to pay any portion of the Rental Fee as set forth above and in Rental Agreement can result in loss of the reservation of the villa and a termination of the Rental Agreement. We will confirm receipt of each payment and note any outstanding balance and due date(s).
Cancellation: We have a no refund cancellation policy, but usually succeed in rescheduling cancelled reservations to the Spring or Fall or re-booking the cancelled period to another group and refunding the party that cancelled. Failure to pay the final balance (which is due 60 days before arrival) or provide required information for the security deposit may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Clients are advised to consider Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation.
