Far enough from the summer crowds of Les Baux de Provence, and nevertheless walking distance from it, La Citadelle is a haven of peace. From the large terraces you feel as if you are dominating all the landscape surrounding you.
This is truly one of the best locations we have seen in Inland Provence, with several acres of gardens and private land, connected to several thousand acres of protected land in the vast and rugged Provencal countryside. Enjoy the wonders of your surroundings from a privileged perch near les Baux, while enjoying proximity to the villages all around: Maussane, Mouriès, St Rémy, Eygalieres.
The feeling inside the house is quite unique as well as it is truly connected to the stone and the cliff. There is an ambiance of peace and connectedness here unlike any other. The house offers 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and can greet up to 6 adults.
The large open space on the ground floor encompassing the kitchen, dining and sitting room, is on the same level as the terrace surrounding the house. A summer kitchen welcomes those wishing to grill and prepare dinners outdoors.
In addition to the main house, an adjacent studio with kitchenette, sitting room, a bedroom with bathroom may be rented at additional price. This room is ideal for teens or personnel. Please inquire.

The village of the Baux de Provence is situated in the heart of the Alpilles son a rocky plateau 245m high. A brilliant view of Arles, la Camargue and the Alpilles can be seen from the look-out points! This immense and superb stone fortress is without doubt one of the "must-sees" on the Provencal tourist trail!

Les Baux de Provence - Office du Tourisme
You can not miss the "Citadelle des Baux" at the summit of the village. Les Baux covers 7 hectares and visitors can discover the main ruins of its dramatic past: the keep, Saracen towers, chapel, old war weapons... the history of Provence unfolds before your eyes amongst the rocks and stones.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
