Situated in the heart of the stunning lavender region facing the Luberon hills, La Colombière offers a provençal resort-like experience for its guests.

An expansive 200 acre property, with more than 1000 sqm of newly renovated living quarters, this noble Bastide dates from the XVIII century and comes equipped with a full-time staff.

The entire house has a heating and cooling system which circulates from the floor to maintain comfort in all seasons. The rooms are large and inviting - A perfect place for large family or group gatherings.

Guests enjoy most meals outside on the fantastic terraces, though a gorgeous interior winter garden can also be set with tables for up to 28 guests. Six bedrooms and two dormitories are set in the main bastide, while two additional bedrooms with AC are located in the former, now renovated dove house set just across the courtyard.

Your comfort and relaxation are guaranteed by the three wonderful staff members working here for the property: a guardian (pool man and gardener), a manager (housekeeper) and a cook. Each morning, rise to the enjoyment of fresh croissants, newspapers, and a continental breakfast prepared either on the various terraces or at the pool area. More details below in regards to staff services.

The outdoor areas offer the atmosphere of a private holiday resort with a large pool, a lighted tennis court, terrain de boules, ping pong table, foosball table, bikes, and children's sandpit.

This property is genuine and authentic: the nature is unspoiled, the provençal light is ever-calming, and the surroundings are equally vast and stunning.

The nearest village of Simiane la Rotonde is a traditional, welcoming hilltop village in the Luberon. The small roads and trails starting from the house invite guests towards boundless hiking and biking routes.

Additionally, this fantastic property is only one and a half hours from the Aix TGV or Avignon train stations, and an hour and forty minutes from Marseille or Avignon airports.

Simiane is a magnificent little village is perched high on a hill surrounded by fields of lavender, between Forcalquier and the Luberon.

Classed "cité de caractère", the village posseses a rich historic past and you will discover some fascinating architectural details dating back to the middle ages and the Renaissance.

The remains of a 12th century rotunda is all that can be seen today of the château which once belonged to the noble Simiane-Agoult family. Dominating the village from the top of its hill, this rotunda is like a large round keep with a huge arched ceiling.

The rotunda has been recently restored and a traditional music festival is held here every summer. Simiane la Rotonde was a prosperous village in the past, and some grand residences and "hôtels particuliers" can still be seen today.

With the 16th century covered market place, stalls and boutiques, it is easy to imagine the lively trading that used to go on.

While walking in the streets, you will come across beautiful façades, sculptured doors and delicately worked window frames.

From the gardens and terraces set out on the sides of the streets, you can appreciate the spectacular view of the purple fields of lavender. For many years, Simiane was the regional capital of lavender and today remains an important production centre.

You will appreciate all the flourishing charm of this village surrounded by vast purple fields which fill the starry summer nights with the most delicate fragrance...

Getting here:
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
