The authentic stone farmhouse has recently been restored and tastefully decorated. Clean lines and light, and airy rooms defy the history of the building.
The house comprises of a beautiful fully equipped kitchen, dining and sitting room on the ground floor, along with a small bedroom with double bed and bathroom. On the first floor are 4 bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom.
There are several terraces, all quite relaxing, with different views and atmospheres. The two famous hilltop villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste are seen from the beautiful views of the house.
The dining place located under the linden tree is quite alluring, and the landscaped garden adds much to the beauty of the property.
Enjoy the comfort and sophistication of the interiors, as well as the beautiful, peaceful and natural landscape with quiet corners to enjoy a book.
Because of a pond set on the land and safety concerns, the house is not fit for children under 12. Tennis lovers will enjoy the newly built private tennis court.
Mas des Figuiers is also particularly appealing to nature lovers, cyclists and wine and food enthusiasts.

Q. Would you recommend Only Provence to friends or family? If not, why?
Q. What star rating (1-5) would you give this villa? (5 being best)
Q. Did your villa meet your expectations? If not, why?
Q. Were you able to find the property easily?
Q. How were you treated by the property’s staff and manager? (5 being best)
Q. How would you rate the cleanliness of the villa? (5 being best)
Q. What else could we provide to improve your stay?
R. It would be helpful if the appliance (washer/dryer, stove, oven, dw) instructions were provided in English.
Q. Is there anything that needs to be replaced or updated?
R. The linens used to combine the twin beds, particularly in bedroom 3/4 were substandard and did not work effectively. The main living room is on the smaller side which is as expected but the furniture is rather uncomfortable. Given it is the only indoor seating area, it might be considered for replacement/upgrade.
Q. Did you book any chef or tour services? If so, what was your experience?
Q. Chef Tour Experience Details
R. Chef Marie was excellent. She was flexible in working with us and accommodated special requests. Her meals were timely, well prepared and served and delicious! As she is located in one of the near by villages, I would highly recommend her for this villa
Q. Would you consider staying here again?
Q. What did you like about your experience?
R. The villa is lovely and the location is excellant. The view is spectacular given the properties location between two villages of Lacoste and Bonnieux. The grounds are spacious and although we visited in the spring, I assume are stunning when the full maintenance program is in place. The local team, led by Carole L. was very responsive and helpful and addressed any concerns we raised. She is available and communicates very well in English. Always happy to assist or available to answer questions. Very professional!
Q. Testimonial for Only Provence
R. Ingrid was a pleasure to work with and a welcome resource in securing our rental. We had one false start on a property and she stepped in and was very helpful in identifying this property and answering a variety of questions about the villa and the area. Very professional and response like everyone I dealt with at Only Provence.

Centrally located in the rolling hills of the Luberon Mountains near Lacoste and Bonnieux - An ideal location for hikes, walks, cycling, touring or just relaxing.
The famous château belonging to the Marquis de Sade is situated in Lacoste. In 1771 the Marquis fled from Paris to escape the scandals created by his erotic writing and outlandish behaviour (too liberal for the era). He came to Lacoste and sought refuge in the château which belonged to his grandfather. This huge 11th century château, partly in ruins, belonged to a professor who has been restoring it for more than 30 years. Today the château belongs to M. Pierre Cardin, the famous fashion designer.
The château de Sade is not the only discovery to be made at Lacoste. The village has charming narrow streets, paved in "calade" stone and wandering around is a pleasant way to pass the time.
You will come across beautiful old stone houses, some of which are being restored.
Most are made from ochre, limestone and amateur geologists and history lovers will find it difficult to leave this engaging place.
No matter what route you take to Bonnieux, you will see the church tower well before you arrive. At a height of 425m, the tower dominates the countryside and the surroundings of this magnificent village, situated in the Luberon.
Bonnieux - Church
Built on a plateau above the valley, Bonnieux is one of the finest villages in the area. The houses spread out on the hill-side form a striking harmony of earth-toned colours and shapes.
Bonnieux - Calade
Some superb residences dating back to the 16th, 17th, and 18th century serve as a reminder that Bonnieux was a wealthy village when this region, the Comtat Venaissin, belonged to the Popes.
Bonnieux - Vaulted door
Several bishops also chose to live here and as you wander through the village streets you will no doubt marvel at the architecture and history on display.
Bonnieux - Cedars
After having climbed 86 stone steps to the "Vieille Eglise" and the old cedar trees, you will discover a beautiful view of the Monts du Vaucluse, and the villages of Gordes and Roussillon. You can also admire the vast plains planted with grape vines (Cotes du Luberon), lavender, cereals and fruit trees - just as the impressionists painted them!
Bonnieux - Restaurant
Don't leave Bonnieux without visiting the Boulangerie Musueum where you will see a collection of bread and learn plenty about its history and manufacture.
All this will certainly whet your appetite - but don't worry, Bonnieux has some excellent restaurants, complete with charming terraces.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
