Recently sold to new owners in 2020, Château de Gignac has begun a new life and revival with its recent renovations. No detail has been left untouched, yet every bit of charm and history has also remained intact. This is not an easy feat when renovating such an historic space, and the work has been done extremely well here.
The gardens are also being revived quite beautifully, and walks through the green fields following the old stone walls are simply entrancing. A long 20-meter heated pool is nestled within the stone and cypress of the lower terrace, with the large main terrace above. This larger terrace space is ideal for meals throughout the day, shaded beneath the impressive trees, with comfortable seating for all.
This authentic and regal pastoral ambiance continues as you continue through the main entrance of the home, and are immediately welcomed by the impressive grand stairwell and warm stones.
The history of the space is felt throughout - from genuine tile work, original woods, stunning fireplaces, stones, and comfortable antique furnishings. High ceilings and open rooms offer ample space to both relax individually, and join together as a group.
The ground floor welcomes all to the large vaulted kitchen, opening onto the main outdoor terrace, as well as a breakfast room, dining room, library, and salon.
On the second floor, in addition to the two King bedrooms, guests enjoy additional communal spaces within the office, sitting room, and both a billiard and music room. The terrace of the Master bedroom here on this level is second to none as well.
In terms of location, the castle is set in the middle of a charming village of the Luberon Mountains, which lends itself well to anyone wishing to explore the region either by car, bicycle or foot. Hiking and cycling through these gorgeous hills is breathtaking, and with expansive lavender in the neighboring fields, the local paths are ideal for explorers of all ages.
Guests are certain to enjoy an unforgettable and truly authentic, luxurious experience when staying here at Chateau de Gignac.
