Average rating:
5 out of 5 based on 3 ratings. 3 user reviews.

Lovely house in a quiet setting and well situated for exploring the Luberon.
Only Provence were very helpful in finding accommodation to suit our needs and were always quick to respond with options
We used a Chef to provide our meal one night (Gerald Konings), which was very good and he was very professional.
The housekeeper was very friendly and helpful with good English, although I speak French so it wasn't much of an issue

Areas for improvement:
The master bedroom should really have a toilet in the bathroom for the price we paid.
The swimming pool heater kept tripping because of storms etc and it was a little on the fresh side for my children, which limited how many times we went swimming, which was disappointing. May be a cover should be put on the pool.
The cleaning day was changed without any notice, which wasn't very convenient and ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing morning as we had planned to be out for the original designated cleaning morning we had been told when we arrived.
The kitchen was well equipped, but strangely there was no microwave, which you would expect for a house in this price bracket

Would you recommend Le Mazet de Lacoste, Only Provence, Chefs or Tours to friends/ family and why/ why not?
I would recommend le Mazet de Lacoste, Only Provence and Chef Gerald Konings

What star rating would you give Le Mazet de Lacoste? (1 is lowest and 5 is the highest) 3.5 (because of lack of ensuite toilet otherwise the house was very nice and comfortable)

We had a phenomenal experience. House was great. Only Provence staff was friendly and helpful. Website had tons of information. The woman who left menus at the house was fabulous. Very helpful and knowledgable and so sweet! She also cooked dinner for us one night, which was incredible. I would recommend her highly.

Overall, our experience was terrific. We really enjoyed the house (was suitable for a small family like us), very well decorated and equiped, besides having an excellent location - near to most charming villages.

Our host - Veronique - was at the home when we arrived. She was friendly and explained all details. We had an issue with the shower heat - from the 3 showers, only one was working. This was the only inconvenience and Veronique solved the problem as soon as we report to her.

We would certainly recommend Le Mazet de Lacoste to our friends. I am actually write for magazines about exclusive travel in my free time and already gave your website as a reference in Provence. It will be published in the most important business magazine of Brazil next March. I will send you a pdf later on.

Anyway, we expected to come back with friends to Provence. Our plan is to rent a bigger villa for 12 people and I will certainly look for your advice in the future.

Many thanks for your excellent support (I sent you so many e-mails....) and orientation. You had also a very important role during the "buying process".
Hope to have another chance to rent in Provence with your company.

Centrally located in the rolling hills of the Luberon Mountains near Lacoste and Ménerbes -- An ideal location for hikes, walks, cycling, touring or just relaxing.

The famous château belonging to the Marquis de Sade is situated in Lacoste. In 1771 the Marquis fled from Paris to escape the scandals created by his erotic writing and outlandish behaviour (too liberal for the era). He came to Lacoste and sought refuge in the château which belonged to his grandfather. This huge 11th century château, partly in ruins, belonged to a professor who has been restoring it for more than 30 years. Today the château belongs to M. Pierre Cardin, the famous fashion designer.

The château de Sade is not the only discovery to be made at Lacoste. The village has charming narrow streets, paved in "calade" stone and wandering around is a pleasant way to pass the time.

You will come across beautiful old stone houses, some of which are being restored.

Most are made from ochre, limestone and amateur geologists and history lovers will find it difficult to leave this engaging place.

Getting here:
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
