All administrative procedures in advance were very efficient and good.
We liked the house and gardens a lot. The kitchen was well equipped and it was very kind that we were greeted with a welcome basket with essentials like coffee, milk, honey, wine, etc. and dinner for the first night. The chef we had (Sophie) was fabulous, great meal, very kind woman. Corinne, who looks after the house is very nice and her daughter Mégane taught our daughter every day three hours of French and did a great job. Everything was very well organized.

We were staying at Le Mas du Parc in June 2016.
It was extremely propitious choice of the property among so many possibilities. Elegance, comfort and decor of the house - and sprawling grounds gave us ambiance to enjoy Provence.
We loved the local markets and so much to see all around.
House and property is 5 stars.
We will be back hopefully soon.

Rental was classic French. Beautiful home among beautiful gardens. Corrine met us timely, showed us around completely. Excellent appointed kitchen, living room, pool room. Bedrooms very comfortable. Very convenient that the first dinner had been arranged and delivered to house.
Early May might not be the most predictable weather month but offset by lack of other tourists.
Information booklet in Mas was extremely helpful in planning
Proximity to Lourmarin very convenient for shopping and dining.

Areas for improvement:
more than one towel per person

What did you enjoy about your experience?
The house, the garden, the relationship between the two. Proximity to the village. The friendliness of the people in the village. One or two of the village shops. The light supper provided on the first evening (which we weren’t expecting!) The housekeeper, who was very charming and spoke little English, which meant we weren’t afraid to use our French!

Would you recommend Le Mas du Parc or Only Provence?

Fabulous trip. Only Provence helped make trip great. We did have some issues while we were at the house, but Corinne helped resolve them (no hot water for two days and flat tire Last day).

Areas for improvement: Mas Du Parc could use more fans or a/c in main area of home.

Our travel group wants you, your team and, most especially, the owners of Mas du Parc to know that our stay in Provence was absolutely perfect! We had the most wonderful time exploring the region, but the highlight was discovering that the house and grounds were even more beautiful than the photos on the website. What a marvelous location for a relaxing, most enjoyable week in Provence. Thank you for everything you and the team did to make our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

Mas du Parc is a beautiful property situated on the edge of a non touristy town of Lauris. The property had a magnificent garden with swimming pool, ping pong table, bocce ball court and a huge expanse for the children to play ball and run. This was surrounded by lavender and many shrubs in bloom.

Thank you for supplying our dinner the first night. We had been travelling for 24 hours and the 5 adults and 5 children appreciated wine, savory tarts and dessert.

The villa was beautifully decorated with antiques and cozy sitting areas and was so big the children could be playing at the pool table or playing air hockey, watching TV or playing board games at one end of the house while the adults were at the opposite end of the house at the dining room table drinking wine, eating, talking and planning the next day’s activities undisturbed.

One night we had Chef Ronald come to the house to cook a special dinner of our choice. One of the children stated it was the best meal that he had ever had. This meal was served outside on the huge patio with candles and fresh flowers from the garden. It was magical! As I look back this was my favorite evening.

The Only Provence personnel were very efficient and helpful-Ingrid, Stanley, Theresa were a pleasure to work with.

My daughter and her family arrived at the villa first and were met by Corinne, the house manager. She was very kind and very efficient. Even though we spoke little French, and Corinne spoke little English, they muddled through the contracts and instructions as best as possible. This was not the ideal time for her to totally understand what she was signing. As I write this report, I do not know how to overcome this problem.

The greatest problem we all had were the directions to Mas du Parc. The step by step written directions were not complete. With the help of Google Maps, the first family eventually found the gate to the house. The second family, of which I was one of the occupants, arrived one hour later. We did not have the benefit of Google Maps or GPS. After going back to the round- about many times showing the direction to Lauris we decided to contact our family in the first car. They explained what to do and they literally had to walk out to the road and flag us down. Please complete the written directions for those who cannot enter the GPS coordinates. By the time we arrived at the villa we were very tired and cranky.

In the town of Lauris, there is a great restaurant called Lou Pebre d’Aie. We had been told to make reservations before our arrival which we did. The dinner was exceptional. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The clientele seemed to be local. Also, there is a bakery within a short walk of the villa where you can obtain freshly baked croissants and pastries.

I would definitely recommend Mas du Parc and Only Provence to anyone visiting Provence.

Le Mas du Parc is a lovely property, in a quiet and spectacular setting. The house is very spacious, the bedroom AC works very well, and the kitchen is well-furnished for cooking in. The outdoor table is very large, and easily accommodated our group of 9 for meals. We had a wonderful experience.
Setting was lovely--very beautiful and rustic, and the house was very nice. The AC in the bedrooms worked well.

Areas for improvement: We never could get the satellite tv to work, even though we followed the instructions very carefully. We didn't plan to watch much tv, and didn't have any small kids, so it wasn't a huge issue. The property manager spoke practically zero english, so the communications were more difficult, and it made me very reluctant to call her with any needs. We ran out of toilet paper halfway through the week, and wound up just buying some. The maid came twice, but didn't leave any more tp either time. They were also a little tight on towels. One of the 5 bedrooms didn't have any, so when our guests for that room arrived for the last two days they had to use pool towels--again, not a huge deal, but a small disappointment. The pool water was very cold. We asked the pool guy if he would heat it up, and he said the heater was already on, and he wouldn't increase the temp.

As you can see with the comments above, all the areas for improvement were minor, but nonetheless issues we didn't expect to have.

Would you recommend Le Mas du Parc, Only Provence, Chefs or Tours to friends/ family and why/ why not? Yes, as overall everything was wonderful. There were only the few minor items that detracted from the experience.

What star rating would you give Le Mas du Parc? (1 is lowest and 5 is the highest) 4
What star rating would you give Only Provence? 4
What star rating would you give Chefs/ Tours you experienced? 4 On the chefs, the food and service were excellent. However, the cost was very high. It was just under $1,000 for 9 of us for the catered dinner our next-to-last night. That was far and away our most expensive meal in France, and over double what most of our other meals ran. Very nice experience, but for me personally it wasn't worth the cost.

I would love to share my experience from beginning to end.

My journey researching a villa to rent in the South of France took me to your site, "Only Provence", over a year ago. I had been planning a trip for our entire family for 2 years. So, my "must have list" in your site gave me tons of options, however, Le Mas du Parc topped the list because of it's location, size and it's heated pool. Le Mas du Parc far surpassed our expectations when we finally arrived May 10, 2014. The online pictures could never convey the size of the property, the layout, how beautiful the gardens are, and the feeling of home it all held in store for us. My family was overwhelmed by all the modern conveniences, by the privacy each bedroom and bathroom provided, especially the "family wing" where our son's family resided with 2 small children. Not to mention all the amazing art, newly upholstered furniture, rugs and antiques made this not just a place to rent, but made it our home away from home. Five Star Rating

Chef Ronald created a magical evening of dining and relaxation. From appetizers and champagne by the pool to the 4 course sumptuous dinner on the patio under the plane trees. What a charming, talented and engaging man. Five Star Rating

The ancient town of Lauris provided all the daily staples one needs. Baguettes, cheeses, sausages, olives, wine, strawberries and cherries completed the necessary food groups. I strongly suggest the Friday market in Lourmarin and Cucuron on Tuesday. Chez Felicien in Cadenet was a late find during our 3 weeks there, but that didn't prevent us from returning for 3 lunches and 2 dinners. Lawrence, the wife of the chef and owner, was utterly charming and warm as well as our server, Alexandra. Both spoke English very well. Four and half Stars.

My correspondence and communication with Stanley Smith from Only Provence and Corinne (house manager) made the process of renting such an outstanding property go very smoothly. Each was friendly and responded to my many questions promptly. The payment process was convenient as well as the contract signing. Only Provence gets a Five Star.

I would not hesitate in recommending Only Provence to anyone who is interested in staying in a top quality property.

We had a brilliant holiday at Le Mas du Parc in Lauris, it is a beautiful villa.

Your local representative, Corinne, was great. She is very polite and efficient, and the villa was presented to us in a spotless condition. The hamper of wine and food on arrival was greatly appreciated.

We would very happily recommend Le Mas du Parc to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful, town located villa in Provence. It is the perfect house for six to ten people and offers three beautiful master en-suite bedrooms, two other well furnished bedrooms and generous living rooms. The swimming pool area is well fenced and set apart from the main villa in a beautiful spot overlooking the well maintained gardens. The four children in our group, 6, 7, 8 and 9 years of age, loved the gardens and the pool. Free wifi was also appreciated.

The town of Lauris is quiet and offers three or four restaurants and two excellent bakeries, and is far less touristy than the nearby and quite beautiful Lourmarin. Aix en Provence and Avignon are each within less than an hour's drive and we preferred the latter due to its "walled city" aspect and as it has more of a village feel to it than Aix which is clearly a bustling and popular University town.

We found dealing with Only Provence very straight forward and Stanley was always prompt and efficient during our correspondence.

We'll know who to use for our next trip to France - that will save us plenty of time !

Regards,
Peter

The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
