5 out of 5
From the first contact, Only Provence was highly professional, quick to respond, attentive and confidence building. I knew from our initial contact that our experience would be five star all the way. They were concise about payments, helpful in finding the right property, and had remarkable follow-up each step of the way. Even after our arrival, their staff continued to stay in touch to be sure we were properly taken care of.
Areas for improvement:
Our greatest difficulty arose in actually finding the property. Gilles made every effort to meet us, but our difficulty was in using our phones successfully in Provence. We did have a memorable experience in our effort to find the villa. After driving down every secondary road in town and around in circles several times, I stopped to ask a man driving a service truck. At first we had difficulty communicating, but when I showed him the picture of the house, a light bulb went off. He told us to follow him and, voila, there is was….tucked at the end of a dirt driveway behind several other houses. So…at least for Mas Rustrel, a drawn map, or turn by turn directions starting at the grocery store would be a big help.
I would, without hesitation, recommend Le Mas Rustrel and Only Provence. I wish I could find a resource with as much professionalism and selectivity here in the states. It is clear that Only Provence has very high standards, employs highly professional staff, and takes their job very seriously. Gilles checked on us four times during our stay and assured we had whatever we needed. I’ve never experienced that kind of professionalism when renting a property. We did not take advantage of Chefs or Tours.

Thank you for all the service and support you provided. You are one exceptional organization.
Both the host and the house were fantastic. Gilles was very welcoming and gave us the full tour of the home when we arrived. As we arrived on a holiday, he was also kind enough to get groceries for us and make dinner reservations at the local inn.
The house was beautiful and every room was immaculate - super clean. It had every amenity we could ask for - washer / dryer, iron / ironing board, coffee maker, espresso maker, etc. etc. He also had a pile of wood for us to make use of the wood-burning stove. While it was too cool to go swimming, he did offer to turn on the pool heater for us.
The local town is charming - a great little bakery that made delicious breads, and a nice inn with a restaurant - great food and great wine. Everyone we came across was absolutely delightful - we had a marvelous time!
I would give both Le Mas Rustrel and Only Provence 5 stars each. Le Mas Rustrel is a beautiful and comfortable place situated near a variety of sights. Gilles was pleasant and very helpful (he even made a few dinner reservations for us while we were there). Only Provence makes the transaction easy. The website is functional and the the terms and requirements were clearly presented. There were no surprises or hidden costs. I would certainly use Only Provence again in the future and I would certainly recommend it to friends. In regard to the Chef or an tours we did not use those services.
Yes, you certainly can use my first name and city of residence on your web site.
What did you like about your experience?
We loved the position of the house. Straight from the house there were great walks and running routes. Apt, the nearest town, had all the useful shops- wine shop, cheese shop, supermarket and even a tea shop. Sitting outside in the evening and watching the sunset, the milky way and the space station going past was great. We also liked using the grill.
We enjoyed walking to the local bakery every morning and in the afternoon to the same place to buy ice-cream.
There were very nice local restaurants in the village. Rustrel had relatively few tourists and this added to its charm.
Areas for improvement:
The toilets could have a small basin in to wash hands. The upstairs loo needs a lock. The dishwasher needs to be changed for a better model (the owner did this immediately after this guest's stay).
We needed more instructions for the first casual meal, we struggled to cook the lamb.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our rental home was everything we expected and more! We got to meet
Gilles and John when we arrived which was nice so they could share some tips on visiting the Luberon.
We loved the little town of Rustrel. Loved that there was a bakery and market within walking distance and enjoyed amazing meals at the restaurants
that were close by. We hiked and biked around Rustrel and our home was in great location for our travels to different villages, cities and
Le Mas Rustrel was perfect for our family of 5! We enjoyed our big kitchen so we could make dinners with the food we brought from the market. We made a fire enjoyed the large family and dining rooms. The view outside was picturesque and the town was quiet.
We would absolutely recommend La Mas Rustrel to family and friends... and already have! (We wish we could have stayed longer!)
We were very impressed with your support and follow-up with the
planning of our vacation. We will also recommend your website!

Located in the quaint and quiet village of Rustrel, near Apt in the Luberon Mountains. Within walking distance to the bakery, cafés and restaurants of Rustrel. Sight seeing, hiking and cycling are the most popular activities.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
