Situated on a large private domaine of olive groves, the Bastide welcomes you with a beautiful, open courtyard looking the hills in the distance. Comfortable outdoor seating areas, perfectly shaded, welcome guests to morning coffees, afternoon naps, or evening cocktails. The large basin pool lines the eastern wall, offering a nice mix of sun and shade throughout the day. Evenings in the courtyard are quite special as well, with beautiful lights highlighting the natural stone, trees, and sculptures.
The original stone farmhouse has been splendidly renovated, focused upon an ambiance of peace, privacy, and space. The understated contemporary design flows nicely with the authentic character of the home, and makes this luxury property particularly unique.

A large salon to your right offers areas for both relaxing by the fireplace or television, playing on the Bechstein piano, as well as sitting by the large open windows facing the courtyard views.
Six bedrooms can be found amongst the three levels of living space, each unique and spacious, and equipped with air-conditioning for Summer comfort. All bedrooms have en-suite sinks and showers/baths; ideal for couples traveling together.

Q. Did your villa meet your expectations? If not, why?
Q. Were you able to find the property easily?
Q. How were you treated by the property’s staff and manager? (5 being best)
Q. How would you rate the cleanliness of the villa? (5 being best)
Q. What else could we provide to improve your stay?
R. We absolutely loved our stay! The only thing is when I booked the Villa it read online all of the bedrooms had air-conditioning, about a month or two before we arrived it was changed to only three of the rooms. I had printed out the amenities sheet when we first booked which was different before arrival online. With that said we bought extra fans and tried not to use the stove that much to keep the house cool.
Only Provence Comment:
There is now full AC in ALL bedrooms for Bastide de la Senancole, as of the 2021 season.
Q. Is there anything that needs to be replaced or updated?
Q. Did you book any chef or tour services? If so, what was your experience?
Q. Chef Tour Experience Details
R. We loved all three chefs that came to our villa, And especially liked chef Ronald’s cooking lesson. We also enjoyed Sebastian Lopez’s wine tours immensely! I would definitely use Sebastian again!!
Q. Would you consider staying here again?
Q. What did you like about your experience?
R. We loved everything but really liked the fact that the Villa was so close to Gordes. We loved Gordes!! The kitchen was very nice and great beds!!
Q. What is one thing we could do to improve your experience with Only Provence in the future?
R. We were bummed about all the wasps in there he pool area. We were hoping to lay by the pool and swim the whole two weeks. Sadly we couldn’t be in the pool until the sun set each day. We bought wasp traps but that didn’t work at all! One other thing that is very important to mention, we would have liked being able to access Netflix on all of the TVs. Our family regularly watches TV and movies and we could not because of the language barrier. Most hotels offer Netflix and I think you should look into having Netflix on the TVs or at least the main one in the family room by the kitchen.
Q. Testimonial for Only Provence
R. We have been fortunate to stay and a lot of nice places and Bastide de Senancole did not disappoint! We felt safe and ride it home and the beautiful renovated house.

La Bastide de la Sénancole is just 10 minutes away from the famous hilltop village of Gordes. This location is within easy reach of the villages of the Lubéron - Ménerbes, Lacoste, Goult, Bonnieux and Roussillon. Coustellet, small village with a variety of shops and a supermarket, is less than 2 minutes by car. The property is likewise well located for excursions beyond the Lubéron. Aix-en-Provence lies to the south, the Cote du Rhones wine-producing region to the north, and the villages and restaurants of the Alpilles region to the southwest. The historic town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, once a center of the Provençal silk trade and now home to more than 200 antiques dealers and Provence's best-known open-air market, is a drive of less than 20 minutes, is the center outside Paris of antiques dealing.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
Hiking, Route des Vins, visits of Luberon villages, outdoor local markets.
