We loved the house. Loved the chefs. All three were terrific and very different.
Areas for improvement:
The web site advertised an under floor cooling system, which did not exist. In fact the owner (who was lovely and met us upon our arrival) looked at me when I had three heads when I asked. The week we were there it was close to 100 degrees every day. We could have used the cooling. I would remove that fact from the web site.
We opted for cleaning every day (but Sunday). I feel that should be standard.
Would you recommend Bastide de Sivergues, Only Provence, Chefs or Tours to friends/ family?
We would. I prefer a house with a view, the house was awesome, but because there was no view, could really have been anywhere on the planet. The people associated with the house were all lovely. Ingrid helped with reservations for dinner once we made selections. We had to reconfirm our own reservations… which was fine for me but some required we phone from Germany (our first stop).
Wine selection in the house limited but the wines were great and reasonably priced.
Loved the chefs.

The home was ‘as advertised’, and was stunning.
Our villa could not have been any more perfect. The secluded location, the beautifully designed, renovated and luxuriously appointed house, the helpful services of the greeter were all of an extremely high standard - and we know because we've stayed at some of the best five star hotels in the South of France.
Our only disappointment is that we did not spend more time enjoying the villa itself. There are so many wonderful things to do, places to see and eat nearby that a week in Provence is simply not enough.
We had a wonderful vacation in Provence, and owe so much of our happiness to Only Provence and our lovely rental Bastide de Sivergues. The house set the overall mood and high standard for the trip. It was gorgeous, comfortable, functional and well located. We had a group of ten friends, a mix of couples and singles. It was perfect because every person or couple had their own bathroom, plenty of space, closets, privacy. I won't say that some of our group are *high maintenance,* just that we are well traveled with discriminating tastes, and the house exceeded our expectations! We all enjoyed it tremendously.
We did have some problems with wifi/cell signals but I understand that is being resolved.
The house was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and serve, from dishes to linens to appliances (coffee maker, iron) to wine glasses. The entire house is well appointed with attractive furnishings and art. The house is quite vertical and that doesn't show very much in the photos- but it enhances privacy since there are not too many bedrooms on each floor. Indeed, the house was so enjoyable, it was tempting at times to stay home and just relax instead of day tripping.
The location is remote and it can be difficult to find at night- but we came to appreciate that we were away from everything. It was quiet, green and peaceful. Several days we saw horses in the yard, some riders, hikers, many birds. We enjoyed the pool and variety of outdoor sitting areas. The house is big enough for anyone to escape to a quiet area at any time. The houseman was very helpful and the housekeeper as well (optional). We had the chef come twice and both dinners were excellent; one casual and one special occasion. The location was perfect for exploring the Luberon. Only Provence staffers were excellent; responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, sweet. I would recommend them to anyone. All of their recommendations were spot-on. I would definitely book with them again, and return to this special house. We thank the owners for sharing it with us.

The village of Saignon is perched at the top of a hill behind a large rock which dominates the valley.
Saignon is a peaceful little village that you can explore by foot. Opposite the town hall you will see a very pretty 12th century Roman church.
While walking through the narrow streets you will discover ancient fountains, picturesque shady squares and beautiful old houses with intricate doorways.
Easy access to the rock of Saignon Do not hesitate to climb to the top of the rock where there is a fabulous panoramic view of the plains and the Luberon mountain range.
If the weather is fine, you can see Mont Ventoux, the Lure mountain, the Alpes de Haute Provence and even the heights of Avignon!
Thanks to its rock, Saignon played a key defensive role for the town of Apt, attacked through the centuries by numerous invasions... although not yet by tourists!
Saignon is still relatively unknown so you can appreciate the beauty of the countryside and discover delightful walking trails in the surroundings and around Mont Luberon.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
