Location, location, location - easy walking distance to Villeneuve-les-Avignons with its great shops, restaurants and of course patisserie and boulangeries and regular markets - yet the villa is a discrete private location. Easy to get to Avignon by local bus, 24hr park&ride or 10e Uber. Immediately felt like home. Francois and Veronique provided a personalised welcome to what is part of their historic family home and were always available to help...though we had little or no occasion to request anything. The twice weekly maid service was discreet and very efficient. The laundry facilities expansive and welcome. All rooms with en-suites and a/c meant a comfortable stay no matter what the weather - we had sun throughout. The unheated pool in late May worked for our northern European blood - though June/July might be warmer for those of more delicate sensibilities. We used several private chef services during our stay for and this just added to our stay experience but the 50m walk to Restaurant7, at the tennis courts, was an equally impressive meal and experience and shouldn't be missed. All of the team - from planning, to arranging and accommodating our needs - were fantastic, easy to communicate with and made what was a family gathering a memorable event. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Our two-week adventure to Villeneuve les Avignon was an absolutely seamless experience for our entire family. It was a birthday celebration and an introduction to France for several in our group. We aggressively did day trip after day trip and were always exhilarated to make our way "home" each evening to Montolivet, where our chefs and hosts would always be eager to learn about our daily exploits. We were made to feel that we were part of the family and that dynamic was created by the individual, responsive attention provided by the Only Provence team. When we plan our return, Only Provence will be the first call we make.

Mas de Montolivet was one of the best vacation rentals I've experienced in Europe. The photos are completely accurate, and all six bedrooms are comfortable, spotless, and well-appointed—some slightly larger than others, but each with its own charm and great air conditioning. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, including both a standard coffee maker and a Nespresso machine. Each room came equipped with a hairdryer, fresh towels, a bar of soap, and plenty of storage space. The laundry facilities were excellent, with detergent and drying racks provided, making it easy to stay on top of things during our stay. Most notably, the owner/property manager was truly one of the kindest and most helpful hosts I’ve ever encountered. The house itself blends historic character with thoughtful modern updates, making it both charming and comfortable.

We have just left a week of wonderful times with 10 friends in a beautiful villa with plenty of space and charm. Walking distance to a lovely village but feeling like a country estate behind the gate it was the best of all worlds - easy to reach and arrange day trips but quiet and peaceful in the garden. Highly recommended. I would be very happy to return.

Our family of ten thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at this beautiful villa. The fact that it was built and owned by a Cardinal in the fourteenth century and then has been in Francois’s family ever since added such history to our stay. The villa has been upgraded to a high level of beauty and comfort. Francois and Veronique have created such a lovely home and were the most welcoming and helpful hosts imaginable. The gardens designed and lovingly cared for by Francois are spectacular. The location of the villa in the beautiful town of Villaneuve les Avignon was wonderful. We could stroll there in the morning for our fresh croissants and enjoy the many restaurants. Each day we would set out to visit a different city and also visit the local markets. The whole region of Provence is gorgeous. Our hosts and their home have set a standard for our travels that we can only hope to match in the future. Merci beaucoup

Pulling up to the villa from the gated drive provides a view that literally took my breath away. The landscape has been lovingly tended by the owner (a landscape architect) and the hilltop location provides a view of the nearby castle. The villa is generously appointed with every possible kitchen utensil, full table service for at least 20, modern cookware. ample linens for kitchen and all of the six bedrooms, and beautiful hand selected furnishings. The large oven, dishwasher, two washers and dryer, and air-conditioning make life in the villa more than comfortable. It is more of a retreat for adults than children, since most of the furnishings are antiques. Each bedroom is comfortably equipped with its own bath and contains enough room to serve as a retreat - although the size of the living areas make it easy to find one's own niche. The owners are a delight and although not obtrusive in any way, happy to spend time describing the history of the property and the work that they have done to bring it to its current elegant state, if invited to do so. The patio is especially nice during the lovely spring weather, where there is room for everyone to gather comfortably for drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

What a delight! We were 11 people, including one baby, and we could not have been happier. Comfortable, easy, with people flowing in and out, on day excursions or just resting in the beautiful grounds and garden. Perfectly private and quiet, but so close to Avignon and to shopping. We adored the owners who were so charming and helpful, and always available to answer questions. Arranged for chefs for dinners; we had three of them. Boris was by far the best. A great chef and a completely charming man. A consummate professional. We all adored him. This added so much to the relaxation. Would return there in a moment.

Montolivet is a magical and special residence, in the very special village of Villineuve les Avignon. For our family of eight, it was the perfect introduction to Provence. Walking to the village for croissants in the morning, tours to neighboring historical towns, bicycle rides through the countryside, wonderful meals both at Montolivet and in town, tennis on the adjacent clay courts -- I can't imagine a better location for a week in Provence.

There are many opportunities for walking, hiking , and biking to nearby Villages. There are excellent Boulangeries, Patisseries, Restaurants, SuperMarches and the weekly Market nearby.

We would enthusiastically recommend Only Provence to anyone planning a home rental in southern France. Friends suggested we talk with them a year or so ago when we began planning a multi week house party to celebrate a major birthday. I worked with Ingrid Smith to narrow a list of properties that met our criteria, and she identified the perfect location for us. Once we selected the house, the Only Provence support services kicked in, helping us book chefs for dinners at home, tours for our guests and other details. The in country concierge went above and beyond. I had broken my wrist a few days before our departure date and needed a hair salon to wash and blow out my hair every few days. She found one! I needed ten dinner reservations for parties of 12 in restaurants around the Avignon area. The reservations got made. The owner/property manager was the perfect host, and his team incredibly helpful and flexible. We needed rooms refreshed every four days, which meant finding someone to change sheets on a Sunday - unheard of in France. The sheets got changed! Only Provence works with properties of which they have direct knowledge, which helps to maintain their high standards and reduces surprises for the client. For me, when I do this again, it will only be with Only Provence.

The house was equipped to a very high standard. And yet it had all the coziness and comfort of staying in an old friends home! What a joy it was to meet Francois And Veronique and have an opportunity to learn more about the property. The gardens and the pool are so beautiful and we will miss them every day. The home was wonderfully updated in the kitchen and bathrooms, the overall ambiance of the home was warm and welcoming. Beds were extremely comfortable and the house was well appointed. Sophie and her staff did an amazing job - we booked two dinners, one with service and the other prepared on site and we served ourselves. The quality of the food and presentation were exceptional. Everyone in our large party of 13 enjoyed every course. Highly recommend their services. Francois and Veronique's Mas de Montlivet is idyllic. From entering the gates and walking up the tree lined drive to seeing the property for the first time, it exceeded our expectations. The photos of the property are spot on but they can't fully reflect the charm and beauty of the grounds. From the lavender, oleander and hydrangea filled back garden to the beautifully landscaped pool on the property......every corner is memorable. You can see the castle in Villeneuve Les Avignon from the property and the light filled evenings created an incredible backdrop for our family vacation. The walk into town was very easy and we frequented the local bakery, restaurants and shops. Aubergine was a definite highlight and we highly recommend. Avignon is a short distance away via car and we even walked in a couple of times. The villa is a great launching point to tour the area and we did day trips to L'Isle Sur La Sorgue, Pont du Gard, Chateauneuf du Pape, etc. We even did a day trip to Cassis and went swimming in the Mediterranean and ate the most amazing bouillabaisse at Chez Gilbert. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and even met us with Champagne on our first evening there to get acquainted and to show us the property. It was a pleasure getting to know their family and the history of the home. I can't wait to return. Thank you to Francois and Veronique for the use of your home and to Only Provence with helping us plan our stay. Merci!

The hosts were very friendly, helpful, and accommodative. The house walls are very old, but the interior is all modern. The house is well furnished with quality stuff. Rooms are big. The property is amazing, acres and acres of it. It has own pool with barbecue facilities. It has second barbecue just next to the house with a big outdoor table, surrounded by pretty yard. Tennis courts are next door. Our four boys 12-5 years old had enough to stay busy and enjoy the outdoors. The house is 7 minutes walk from town center which has plenty of restaurants and other small shops. Plenty of places to drive around and enjoy the beauty of Provence. Only Provence was very professional and organized. Provide concierge services to help organize the individual trip, introduce to various chefs, and answer any questions we had. Thank you Carol. We would recommend Only Provence to friends or family and the villa met our expectations and we would stay there again.

The stay was absolutely flawless All furniture and appliances were new and house was **extremely** well maintained. Chef Ronald is a star - that’s all I can say. We had him over the day of our wedding and oh my god , what a meal ! His food is sophisticated and extremely delicious , and to top it off, he works with a smile which added to the experience. Definitely the guy you want to go with !! I have so many good things to share about the experience Francois and Veronique offered !! First the house ; 5min walk from the center of Villeneuve (or 40min walk from centre of Avignon), it is located within the owner’s property and yet it maintains its privacy. Once a stable for the popes , the character it holds is superb, built of solid stone. The owners in ~2014 decided to turn it into a rental house , and renovated it to include 6 en-suite rooms, a modern and fully equipped kitchen , a laundry room and a connected dining / living room. The renovation job was done extremely well ; even though the structure itself is a few centuries old, because the piping and electricity was done recently we had no issues with hot water nor heat even though we were in a party of 11. The showers were amazing, the beds were comfortable , the sheets smelled nice and the cleanness was impeccable (there is a cleaning person who comes during the stay , on Tuesday and Thursday). Then there’s also the garden - it was beautifully maintained , every corner thought through - the flowers and trees attracted bees and birds , which made it a peaceful sanctuary after a long day of sightseeing (or a perfect breakfast spot) Lastly , but **definitely** not least, the owners, Francois and Veronique - their hospitality is felt from the time you first meet them . They really take the extra step to ensure your stay is memorable , not only by ensuring it’s headache free but also adding a personal touch to it. They will take time to show you around (as guide for a day! We were taken on this beautiful local winery tour) and show you a few rooms of their own home , which is also centuries old ; a treasure that you can’t see everyday !! One last perk is that they are both available 24/7 ; the couple times we had incidents that we needed to contact Francois, he came promptly and solved the issue in a very positive way . Highly recommended , and I will personally come back one day! Only Provence are friendly and have responsive personnel !

We would recommend Only Provence to friends or family and the villa met our expectations. It would be useful to have hanging space in some of the bedrooms that only have armoires. Air Conditioning would be a great addition to the main floor. Or at least in the bedroom on the main floor. We loved the location and proximity to other villages in Provence. The owner Francois was very friendly and welcoming . The villa and gardens were very beautiful. We spent many relaxing meals at the table in the courtyard enjoying the views. The pool and surrounding area was beautiful and very clean. The bathrooms were lovely, renovated and modern. The kitchen was very well equipped, we were travelling with a bunch of foodies.

Our family of ten loved every minute of our stay at Mas De Montolivet and would give it a five star rating, with a bonus for the graciousness of our hosts. The house and garden had been beautifully restored, with every modern convenience. We have rented numerous villas in Europe over the years and this was our favorite! It was also great to be within a five minute walk to town where we often went for provisions, especially our morning croissants from the patisserie! We highly recommend Montolivet for a fabulous vacation! We found Only Provence to be remarkably cooperative and helpful and would give them five stars. The wine tour was fabulous at Chateauneuf du Pape, with a side trip to the Roman theatre in Orange. We asked for a chef to prepare our first meal (on arrival) and our last. The first was delivered before arrival and was delicious. We thought the second meal would be prepared and served by the chef on site and were disappointed that it too was delivered and we had to cook and serve ourselves. Given the difference in expense and the description of the service, we were disappointed.

We had a magnificent stay at Mas de Montolivet. The owners were terrific hosts. The house was perfect for our family. We had a 20 months to 83 years spread in ages and all were comfortable and well taken care of. We loved our stay. Chef David was remarkable. We felt his meal was the best we had all week! He is so charming. Chef Marie prepared a delicious meal that we all enjoyed. Our tours were outstanding. Both guides were well prepared and interesting. They were very attentive to all our needs and requests. The staff at Only Provence was top-notch. Everything ran smoothly and was professional. I have already recommended the company and the house to several friends Thank you for such an outstanding experience.

The two weeks we spent at Mas de Montolivet was one of the best experiences of our lives. Going through the gate prompted my son to hum the theme song to Jurassic Park. The biggest problem we had was deciding on what bedroom to choose. All were simply wonderful. Getting up each morning to beautiful gardens and scenery, walking to the best bakery for breakfast and the daily baguette. Although we had been to France and Provence many times, we had never fully explored Avignon or Villeneuve. Both were spectacular. I truly think that you could spend a year at this location and not run out of things to see and do. We highly recommend Mas de Montolivet. It is a unique and wonderful property. We would recommend Only Provence. They are professional, patient, accommodating and easy to work with.

We’re back after a glorious week at Mas de Montolivet. I cannot pay enough compliments to the owners. Suffice it to say that we will be back there and will likely send friends and family. The house, the grounds, the village, THE POOL were exactly what we had envisioned and hoped for. The only caveat I would add is that perhaps it isn’t ideal for young children, particularly because of the pool. My boys did break 2 things which we offered to pay for, but Francois, the perfect gentleman took care of them and wouldn’t hear of payment. I think he was the highlight of our stay‚ ever so lovely and even made great suggestions of things we could do with the kids like the Haribo Museum which of course was a hit. If ratings were required for this stay, Mas de Montolivet would get a 5/5 easily. Thank you, Only Provence again for making this another memorable experience!

We spent two weeks recently at Mas de Montolivet with our whole family as a special birthday treat for Sue. Reality far exceeded our expectations and we had the holiday of a lifetime. The booking process through Only Provence was exceptionally professional and straightforward. Sandra and Stanley were amazingly helpful in the lead up to the trip and Carole was very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The villa itself was just perfect with 6 beautiful bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and air conditioning. There were so many places to relax on the property which meant that the twelve of of us never got in each other's way. We made full use of the various spots to eat and had many memorable al fresco meals. The location was made even better by the proximity to Villeneuve and morning trips to the bakery were a treat. Having a swimming pool with full security meant we could safely have the young grand children with us. I would recommend the villa to anyone seeking a very special experience in Provence and we are hoping to return before too long.

8 of us stayed and we all loved the vibe from the moment of arrival. Francois and Veronique were wonderful hosts and so friendly. Beautiful property, fantastic, relaxing garden and it’s proximity to Villeneuve les Avignon is incredibly convenient. You’re far enough away to not feel like you’re part of the village but close enough to walk there and back any time of the day/night. We loved being able to wander down to the village to grab a bite to eat from one of the many cafe/restaurants to choose from. A hand rail for people coming down the stairs, would be about the only thing to mention as an improvement. Otherwise wouldn’t touch a thing. Would definitely recommend Mas de Montolivet to any and all. If I ever decided to go back I’d stay there again.

All of us (there were 8 adults) enjoyed our stay at Mas de Montolivet. The owners were warm, welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Their dog Diego added that final touch that made us feel at home. Francois went out of his way to do whatever he could to make us feel comfortable and to offer his assistance in any way we needed. He is very proud of his home (as he should be) and is very proud to share it with his guests. I would recommend (and already have) this home to anyone interested in staying in Provence. A definite 5 star rating We enjoyed a truffle tour and grape stomping. I would highly recommend both experiences. Johan is very funny and knowledgeable and Lisa is very nice. They know how to entertain their guests! These two events are unique and something we will always remember. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have an age limit to participate. It is my humble opinion, that no one under the age of 12 should be allowed to be involved. Another 5 star rating. I had made arrangements with one of the staff at Only Provence, that when we arrived at the train station in Avignon, there would be two taxis waiting to take us to Mas de Montolivet. To our disappointment, the taxis were not there. After waiting for close to an hour, we hailed our own taxis and got them to take us to the villa. At the end of our stay, Only Provence staff did get two taxis to take us back to the train station with no hiccups. Again, everyone had a delightful time and thought it was a vacation of a life time, one they will never forget and one we would all like to do again. I thank you for helping make our dreams come true.

The property was spectacular and the owner was very helpful and attentive. We were a group of friends revisiting this part of France where we had been students in the late '60's. The Mas de Montolivet met our needs perfectly. The owner informed us of a need for a handrail on the stairway and we concur that the handrail is needed. Checking for burned out light bulbs could be added to the maid's duties. We highly recommend Mas de Montolivet as it is very well appointed and in a wonderful setting. Only Provence offered prompt service and communicated well in regards to arranging the stay. We used a hiking tour and suggest that the concierge be more involved in the arrangements. I handled the contact directly with Jean Bernard and my earlier communication on some members who had knee problems and needed to go slowly was apparently not retained by Jean Bernard. He attempted to readjust on the fly and it was not ideal. Nonetheless, he is very good and we recommend his services. If the concierge had been copied or involved in the communication between us in selecting and preparing the outing, the hike plan may have been better.

The villa was perfect for the 6 of us. Better than what the pictures show and the host Francois and Veronique were fantastic. They were so helpful, and when we got lost our first day there, Francois tracked us down and got us to the villa. All of our accommodations were met and it was an easy walk to the village. What a perfect place to stay for a group of friends or family. Would highly recommend Mas De Montolivet and the wine tour that we took with Eric. Eric did a great job with the wine tour and very knowledgeable about the wines. I would highly recommend the services and villa to any family or friend. What a great location and best of all what great hosts we had. They made the trip for all of us. Special Kudos go out to Francois and Veronique. I would love to see what it looks like in the spring and summer with all the beautiful gardens surrounding the villa. Perfect base for day trips throughout Provence and perfect villa for large groups. For those that like to cook, nice gourmet kitchen with most all of the utensils necessary and best of all, washer and dryer and extra fridge and freezer. Modern ensuite bathrooms for each of the bedrooms was a big plus. I would definitely go back and stay at this villa.

I have rented homes/villas in Italy, Ireland, France and the U.S. and there is no better experience than Mas de Montolivet! I am incredibly picky about accommodations and this Villa has absolutely NO flaws, our guests thanked us profusely for sharing this wonderful experience! And its location at the northern part of Provence and the southern part of the Rhone Valley is outstanding for wine lovers! Most mornings we walked into town ‚Villeneuve les Avignon, and picked up croissants from the local patisserie, or sat at one of the cafes and had petit dejeuner. The walk is less than a half mile and very easy. I absolutely love the location for this feature, you are part of a private estate, but minutes away by foot you have wonderful amenities! On Thursdays, Villeneuve has a wonderful market that was enjoyed by all. The house is comfortable beyond belief! The proprietors have done a marvelous job with the renovation of the chateau. With six bedrooms, each with a private bath, we were able to offer every guest/couple a private room of their choosing. The bathrooms are very modern with Italian tile, rain showers, and good water pressure, which I consider a real plus, as did all our guests. All have large walk in showers, and if there is someone in your party who prefers a tub, the Garden Bedroom offers a tub/shower combination. On the last night of our stay, we hired Chef Youcef, with assistance from Only Provence. He and his assistant (Chrystal) prepared a wonderful three course meal which we enjoyed on the patio. It was particularly fun to watch Chrystal set the table, creating a floral masterpiece from only the foliage and flora of the garden. It was truly a magical evening. I have already recommended Mas de Montolivet to friends and will continue to do so! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else, the location, the home itself, the owners, all add up to a wonderful experience. And Chef Youcef, absolutely! And kudos to the staff at Only Provence who made booking a breeze.

We loved Mas de Montolivet. The house was well appointed with plenty of space for our family of ten. The gardens were a joy to wake up to each morning and made the setting a peaceful retreat. The owners could not have been any more helpful or engaging. We felt like we were a part of their French family. Our experience was made perfect by the care of the owners and the beauty of our villa. It was difficult to leave . The location was just what we were looking for...great for walking to restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. The weekly market in town was more than we expected. We could buy excellent meals to take home as well as everything we needed to prepare our own meals.. Outdoor dining options at the villa were exceptional. We truly felt pampered by the housekeeper. She was so helpful . We cannot say enough good things about the villa and the owners. Will recommend it to our friends. We travel a lot and have always found wonderful places to stay but Mas de Montolivet was the very best. It was just special.

We loved the entire villa, the pool, decorations, beds, rooms with baths, the laundry room, great kitchen, seating areas, the small village with the bakery, and restaurants. The restaurant just near the house was also a blessing, especially on our first night there. Francois and Veronique gave us a warm welcome and helped us often and quickly. After we left, Francois even looked for a camera cord, which I had misplaced on the trip. Only area for improvement: As an elderly group, we would have appreciated railings on the stairwells. Otherwise, everything was top-notch, we highly recommend the villa!! Would love to return there some day!

The Villa Mas de Montolivet was PERFECT. We could not have asked for a more incredible, authentically Provencal place to stay. The villa is beautifully restored. It is the perfect mix of the old and the modern. The owners have furnished it beautifully and have thought of everything to provide for the enjoyment of their guests. There is so much room in the villa‚ 6 bedrooms and 6 full baths (always enough hot water) plus a half bath. All simply beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were so nice I asked where I could buy one. The villa is secluded enough that you feel you are in the countryside but it is only a five minute stroll to town. We felt very safe and secure the entire visit. The view of the old fort on the hill overlook the town from the villa was simply inspiring. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare every meal. There were ample pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, everything you might need. The garden was somewhat past its prime when we visited in late September but it was still peaceful and a truly lovely place to be. The pool! I loved the pool! It is so nicely landscaped and designed and comes with a kitchen, dishes and linens so you don’t have to pack anything from the house to enjoy an evening beside the pool. The location of the villa was terrific. We could easily walk to town in 5 minutes and right there was a bakery, a grocery, restaurants, bars and places to buy wine. There is convenient bus service into Avignon that is very inexpensive. The chef we hired was aloof and seemed to be in an extreme rush to be done with our dinner. The presentation was beautiful but the food was not as good as most of the other food we enjoyed during our trip. I would absolutely recommend Mas de Montolivet and Only Provence. I would highly recommend Eric our wine tour guide as well. We had a lot of fun with him and he is extremely knowledgeable about wine and wine making which made the tour even more interesting. He clearly was very familiar with the wineries we visited and was entertaining throughout the day. The chef I would not recommend.

Our stay at Mont Olivet was lovely. We were two families with 4 adults and 6 children between ages 8 and 15. Having six master suites was very easy and the teenage girls loved the privacy of their separate space off the courtyard. All of us enjoyed the freedom of being able to walk to town to bring back fresh morning croissant to the garden. We also enjoyed walking to dinners after long days of touring in the car. The local market was great and all of the kids were able to go to town on their own. It was very safe and close to the house. We used the pool every evening after touring which was refreshing and beautiful. We cooked a few outdoor poolside dinners in the outdoor kitchen which was easy and a fun break from restaurants.

We enjoyed every moment of our holiday at Mas de Montolivet . There were 10 of us staying there and we all agreed it was the most beautiful home we had ever stayed in . The owners were wonderful and made us feel very welcomed ! We would highly recommend Mas de Montolivet. This home had everything you could possibly need and want . The owners were very generous with their time and made our week at Mas de Montolivet very memorable! The Chef service was excellent. We highly recommend Chef Gerald , the food was amazing. You will not be disappointed . The pictures do not do it justice ! Beautiful home with lots of history. We will be back!!

The whole experience was fabulous! First of all, Only Provence was wonderful to deal with - from the initial phone call with John to get more information to the regular emails back and forth from Stanley - I can't say enough about how terrific Stanley was to deal with; Louise was also really helpful! Mas de Montolivet was incredible - better than expected! The setting was lovely, the house was charming and comfortably updated. Francois and Veronique were delightful! They were there when we got in - they showed us around and left us with some tasty champagne. The garden was beautiful - waking up in the morning and walking onto the terrace and seeing all the olives on the tree and underfoot was such a treat! We enjoyed shopping at the market in Aix en Provence, and then a cooking class, followed by a wonderful dinner - Chef Ronald and his wife Geraldine were wonderful - we had such a nice evening and the food we made was delicious.

In addition to the search process being so easy, the house was really perfect. The owners were so kind and invited us to their house to see the library and tour their property. The gardens were beautiful, the pool and pool house with outdoor kitchen was stunning. The location was amazing-feeling very private and secluded, but a short walk to town and great proximity to Avignon and a good home base for exploring Provence. We are looking forward to coming back!

From the drive up the driveway with its stunning views, and the warm welcome with wine and cheese by our hosts, it was everything we could ask for and more, even better than it looks on the website. It provided a quintessentially Provencal experience, including the wonderful historic house with every amenity, gorgeous gardens and pool, the perfect location within walking distance of a village, and easy drive to other locations. There could have been better directions or a map provided ahead of time, (a GPS is almost essential), but also on arrival provide the tourist office map of Villeneuve d’Avignon. We were 3 generations with 7 adults and 4 children, all of whom had the vacation of a lifetime, capped by an outstanding dinner provided by Chef Yvan on our last night. Only Provence provided excellent guidance, particularly when we were searching for the perfect house on your website (as well as others) and trying to work on the logistics of train travel etc. Mas de Montolivet was truly amazing, and the support provided by Only Provence was excellent. Ingrid was very helpful, as was Louise who also recommended a great photographer. Yvan’s dinner was declared best meal EVER by all adults. But finally, Francois exceeded our expectations, as did Mas de Montolivet. I had hoped that this would be an exceptional experience and vacation for all, and it was, from age 10 to 75. And oh yes, we had perfect weather!!

One of the most elegant streets is the rue Joseph Vernet, adjacent to the Calvet museum and the Requien Museum. Don't miss the Antiquaire quarter, the Place de l'Horloge or the Chemin de Ronde which will take you to the Rocher des Doms. From the top of the ramparts, you can understand why the site was chosen for a fort: Avignon stands high above the immense plains of the Rhône River and is the strategic point of the whole valley. The theater festival has made Avignon important in modern times. Started in 1947 by Jean Vilar, every year between the 10th of July and the 5th of August nearly 120,000 spectators come to discover new talent or admire those actors already known. These shows (theater, dance or music) are enhanced by the background of powerful history and often appear renewed or refreshed in this environment.

Getting Here

The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.

Terms and Conditions Overview

Arrival:
Typical changeover day is Saturday, unless stated in the property overview – please inquire for an alternative arrival day.

Minimum Stay:
Most properties require a 1-week minimum stay - please inquire about shorter or flexible stays outside the summer months.

Services Included:
Final cleaning and any additional maid service listed on the web page.

Making your reservation:
These properties are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, before you reserve, you are required to review and sign a rental agreement for the villa (the“Rental Agreement”) within 48 hours of booking. We will send you the Rental Agreement via Docusign. The Rental Agreement explains in detail all of terms and conditions regarding the rental and use of the property in detail. We shall have no obligation to accept any reservations, unless the Rental Agreement is fully executed.

Payment:
After you have signed the Rental Agreement and filled out the appropriate information, as approved by us, a nonrefundable payment of 30%* of the Rental Fee (which price is defined in your Rental Agreement) must be received by us within five (5) days to confirm the reservation. The remaining 70% of the Rental Fee is due 60 days before the arrival date, and is also non-refundable. If reservations are made less than 60 days prior to the arrival date, then 100% of the Rental Fee must be paid upon the signing of the Rental Agreement. Please know that a failure to pay any portion of the Rental Fee as set forth above and in Rental Agreement can result in loss of the reservation of the villa and a termination of the Rental Agreement. We will confirm receipt of each payment and note any outstanding balance and due date(s).

Cancellation:
Only Provence has a no refund cancellation policy, unless specifically agreed with the owner. Should the Renter wish to postpone their stay, every effort will be made to offer them the possibility to reschedule at an alternative date, pending permission from the property owner. Failure to pay the final balance (which is due 60 days before arrival) or provide required information for the security deposit may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Clients are advised to consider Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation.
