Set within more than two hectares of lush parkland bordering the crystal-clear waters of the Sorgue River, Mas des Reflets is a rare Provençal estate offering an extraordinary sense of space, privacy, and natural beauty. Surrounded by majestic trees and landscaped gardens, this magnificent 19th-century mas enjoys a truly privileged setting where the gentle sound of the river and the reflections of the water create a serene and enchanting atmosphere.
Despite its peaceful countryside setting, the property is located just 8 minutes by car from the charming town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, often referred to as the “Venice of Provence” for its canals and historic waterwheels. Famous for its world-renowned antique markets, lively cafés, and vibrant weekly farmers’ market, the town perfectly captures the art of Provençal living while providing easy access to some of the region’s most beautiful hilltop villages.
Lovingly restored to the highest standards, the estate combines the timeless elegance of traditional Provençal architecture with the comfort and sophistication of a luxury private home. Generous volumes, high ceilings, and refined decorative touches create interiors that are both elegant and welcoming, designed for relaxed yet refined living.
The property offers 11 beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, allowing up to 22 guests to stay in exceptional comfort. The spacious reception areas include elegant lounges, refined dining spaces, and a large fully equipped kitchen designed to cater effortlessly for large groups. Natural light fills the interiors, while large openings connect the living spaces seamlessly with the surrounding terraces and gardens, creating an effortless indoor-outdoor lifestyle typical of Provence.
Outdoors, the estate unfolds like a private park. Expansive lawns, shaded terraces, and quiet corners invite guests to relax throughout the day. At the heart of the garden lies a 17-metre heated swimming pool with its pool house and sauna, surrounded by sun loungers and relaxation areas. Guests can enjoy friendly games of pétanque, challenge each other on the giant chessboard, or simply stroll down to the private access to the Sorgue River, where the cool water and peaceful setting offer a uniquely refreshing retreat during the warm Provençal summer days.
Combining a remarkable riverside setting, generous living spaces, and refined amenities, Mas des Reflets is an exceptional Provençal retreat, perfect for family gatherings, celebrations, or unforgettable holidays in one of the most beautiful regions of southern France.
This property is located in L'Isle sur la Sorgue which is one of those places in Provence that one has to see. This "island city" lies at the foot of the Vaucluse plateau in the plains of Comtat Venaissin. Its colors are nature's green and the bright reflection of the water shining from the several canals running through its center. The river Sorgue surrounds the city as if to hug it. Walking along the canals you will notice how they run between the narrow ancient streets. There are little bridges to cross and great wheels to look at with mossy blades turning in the river. 1 kilometer from the city is the "partage des eaux" where the river splits in two and forms a small pond where plane trees and green foliage abound. History has left its mark on L'Isle sur la Sorgue and points out its importance in Comtat Venaisson in the 14thc. The Collegiate church Notre Dame des Anges has an exceptional Baroque interior and the 18thc, hospital pharmacy boasts a rare collection of Moustier faience. Also, magnificent mansions have been converted into art galleries, in particular the famous Maison René Char (18thc.), now a museum exhibiting such great artists as Miro, Mauguin or Dufy and a display area dedicated to René Char. Antique lovers and art collectors will be gratified by the nearly 300 permanent antique dealers and second hand shops here. L'Isle sur la Sorgue hosts antiques' fairs at Easter and over the August 15th holiday that have given a worldwide reputation to this small city. More than 500 antique dealers and second hand dealers gather here to show their treasures to customers from all over the world.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
