Pottery & Ceramics

Clay. Light. The quiet pleasure of making something with your hands.

Pottery & Ceramics in Provence

There is a particular kind of stillness that comes from working with clay. The hands find their own rhythm. The mind quiets. Time — which in Provence already moves differently — slows down further still. What begins as curiosity becomes, over the course of a morning or an afternoon, something that feels surprisingly close to meditation. And at the end of it, something you made yourself sits on the table in front of you.

Pottery and ceramics workshops in Provence range from gentle introductions to immersive multi-day experiences for those who want to go deeper.

Once your villa booking is confirmed, our concierge will be happy to arrange activities for you, or share contact details if you prefer to book yourself.

Morning Discovery Workshops

A two-to-three hour introduction to the essential gestures of hand-building — pinching, coiling, shaping — guided at an unhurried pace in a calm and inspiring atelier. No experience required, and no pressure to produce anything other than what feels right.

Creations can be taken home the same day, made with clay that requires no firing. A genuinely lovely way to spend a Provençal morning, and the kind of experience that tends to surprise people with how absorbing it becomes.

Pottery Immersions

For those who want to go further, extended workshops offer the space to move through the full arc of ceramics — from the first tentative pinch of clay to refined sculptural forms with deliberate surface, proportion, and texture. Four-day immersions progress through introduction, form, movement, and finishing, with each day building on the last and personalized guidance throughout. All materials are provided, and finished pieces can be collected or carefully packaged and shipped after firing.

Open to all levels, from first-timers to those already familiar with the craft.
