The villa is gloriously situated between Bonnieux and Lacoste, with stunning views and a pool which benefits from sun all day, but also opportunities for shade. It has been exceptionally well renovated, and everything speaks of aesthetic quality. It is based on a very old Mas, and the designer has retained many of the rustic features. The layout of the bedrooms affords a great deal of privacy between guests, however, there is only one room that has an en suite on the same level - but this room is at the top of many stairs, and the exterior bedroom is based above its bathroom, meaning that you have to go outside, and down ancient steps in order to access it. The ceiling in that bathroom is extremely low. This isn't a property for those with mobility issues or the very young. The pictures of the pool on the website do not do it justice - it is beautiful, clean, large and blue. It is also worth noting that the charcoal BBQ has been replaced with a plancha, which worked brilliantly. There are many different places in the grounds of the property to lunch, sit, rest, read, relax and enjoy the views, sunsets and sunrises. We didn't want to leave.

We would recommend Only Provence to friends or family and the villa met our expectations. Only areas of improvement was that the house has many short stairways many without railings. We had an 84 year old guest with us and the steps were intimidating. Would have been nice to know about the stairs in advance. A well decorated and equipped villa and charming housekeeper. Lacks a bit of colour, pots with red geraniums in the garden and around the pool would be a wonderful addition. The bedroom on the lower ground floor was a bit smelly as the sump pump was outside but that may have just been because it needed emptying. The lights working on different censors were sometimes rather irritating and erratic. We would you recommend Mas des Cerisiers and Only Provence.

Mas des Cerisiers was a very comfortable villa that accommodates three to four couples, rustic but with modern conveniences. We had seven adults in our group, three couples and a single. There was ample space in the kitchen, dining and living areas for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and dining. Of our seven nights, we had chefs come in twice, we cooked in twice, and dined out at local restaurants three times. The outdoor areas were also well appointed, and the grounds were very well maintained. We were able to enjoy ripe cherries right in our backyard! We all loved the area, which is very close to Bonnieux, Lacoste, and Apt. We could walk to Bonnieux and ride bikes or drive to Lacoste and Apt. We visited different villages each day, and, then, would share the day’s experiences in the evenings over wine and meals. The Only Provence website is well constructed and user friendly. The villa descriptions are detailed and mostly accurate. The booking process is also easy and assistance is readily available either by email or telephone. Louise was very helpful in selecting chefs for the group. Detailed information about surrounding villages and attractions is easily searchable. The Only Provence French team helped us out by suggesting a restaurant for lunch in St Remy and making the reservation. It was a memorable meal. Chef Genevieve Dely arrived right on time to prepare our first night’s dinner at the villa. She was very personable and spoke English quite well. The seafood dinner she prepared was absolutely delicious and sumptuous. She left the kitchen as sparkling clean as she found it. We engaged Chef Gerald for a cooking class on our third night. Chef Gerald was personable, patient and humorous as he taught all of us his techniques for Provencal cooking with fresh ingredients. We enjoyed a memorable dinner of salad, filet of beef, fresh vegetables and a raspberry tart for dessert. Areas for improvement: Only Provence: During the booking process, it came to light that the advertised price per week for our selected dates on the website was incorrect, causing an unforeseen 300 Euro increase in the price per week. Only Provence needs to ensure that all information is current and correct. The given street address in our arrival instructions was not recognized by our GPS. It was necessary to enter lat, long coordinates in order to locate the villa. Additionally, the villa had an issue with one of the toilets running constantly. We reported this immediately, and we were advised that previous tenants had experienced the same problem. The owner did come over, but advised that we should not use that toilet during our stay. While not insurmountable, this was an unresolved issue that should have been addressed prior to our arrival. Even though there were some issues with both Only Provence and the villa, we would certainly recommend Only Provence as well as Mas des Cerisiers.

House was perfectly modernised yet maintained the rustic original charm. Location perfect for exploring region. Had great kitchen gadgets, cooking tools, table wear etc, etc. Loved the decor, candles and modern details in each bedroom. Bike tour with Dan Hope excellent. Areas for improvement: Wifi to work at pool area. A great house for couples to have privacy yet come together on gorgeous spots.

Overview

Mas des Cerisiers is a beautifully renovated farmhouse with fantastic views of both Bonnieux and Lacoste. From the house, you can enjoy a lovely walk through the fields to the famous village of Bonnieux for pastries, lunch or dinner. This walk is about 15 minutes in duration.

Guests here enjoy the open countryside among cherry trees and lavender fields. Peace and serenity abound as you relax and unwind around the pool or within the garden.

The interior renovation here simultaneously preserves the authenticity of the authentic stone stone building, while offering elements of comfort and modernity that create a most memorable holiday. The bedroom setting allows for great privacy between guests. Air-conditioning is available in the lounge and the 3 bedrooms in the main house, whilst the entire home is equipped with a very efficient heating and cooling system from the floor that keeps the house fresh during the hot days of Summer.

Please note that due to the design of the property, there are many small stone steps, as well as a wide and fairly winding stone stairwell that connects the three levels of living space / bedrooms. These stairs should be used with caution for little ones or anyone with mobility considerations.

Getting Here

The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.

Terms and Conditions Overview

Arrival:
Typical changeover day is Saturday, unless stated in the property overview – please inquire for an alternative arrival day.

Minimum Stay:
Most properties require a 1-week minimum stay - please inquire about shorter or flexible stays outside the summer months.

Services Included:
Final cleaning and any additional maid service listed on the web page.

Making your reservation:
These properties are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, before you reserve, you are required to review and sign a rental agreement for the villa (the“Rental Agreement”) within 48 hours of booking. We will send you the Rental Agreement via Docusign. The Rental Agreement explains in detail all of terms and conditions regarding the rental and use of the property in detail. We shall have no obligation to accept any reservations, unless the Rental Agreement is fully executed.

Payment:
After you have signed the Rental Agreement and filled out the appropriate information, as approved by us, a nonrefundable payment of 30%* of the Rental Fee (which price is defined in your Rental Agreement) must be received by us within five (5) days to confirm the reservation. The remaining 70% of the Rental Fee is due 60 days before the arrival date, and is also non-refundable. If reservations are made less than 60 days prior to the arrival date, then 100% of the Rental Fee must be paid upon the signing of the Rental Agreement. Please know that a failure to pay any portion of the Rental Fee as set forth above and in Rental Agreement can result in loss of the reservation of the villa and a termination of the Rental Agreement. We will confirm receipt of each payment and note any outstanding balance and due date(s).

Cancellation:
Only Provence has a no refund cancellation policy, unless specifically agreed with the owner. Should the Renter wish to postpone their stay, every effort will be made to offer them the possibility to reschedule at an alternative date, pending permission from the property owner. Failure to pay the final balance (which is due 60 days before arrival) or provide required information for the security deposit may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Clients are advised to consider Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation.
