Mas Cristal is a unique and quiet property 5 minutes’ walk from the heart of the village of Fontaine de Vaucluse, well known for its famous 300 meters deep abyss. This stunning fully renovated property is surrounded by the most beautiful river of the area: la Sorgue, offering an exclusive access from the garden to the river and cooling the air in summer. Ideally located, it is just 10 minutes’ drive from the city of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with its beautiful Provençal market and 5 minutes’ drive from the Saumane golf course.
Spanning 300 sqm of living space, the interior boasts generous proportions and a functional layout: the ground floor includes a large bright living and dining room with triple access to the garden, an open well-equipped kitchen, a TV room and one ensuite bedroom. The upper floor features three additional air-conditioned ensuite bedrooms, including a master suite with a private balcony and a children’s room.
The pool area has a breathtaking view on the heights of Fontaine de Vaucluse and the castle of the Bishops of Cavaillon from the 13th century, a unique place to relax and lounge by the water with sunbeds in the shade and a magnificent view of the river.
Relax in this beautiful setting, where you can find plenty of outdoor activities nearby: two canoe departures and a tree climber are 5 minutes from Mas Cristal and will delight children, teenagers and adults alike. Many hiking and road bike trails are also located close to the property.
You can also visit the exquisite Luberon villages of Gordes, Bonnieux and Roussillon with its famous ochres, less than 30 minutes’ drive.
The picturesque village of Fontaine de Vaucluse is a place that looks straight out of a postcard. The village's name is a perfect representation of its essence: a spring of pure, bubbling water emanating from the heart of the earth, adding a note of freshness and vibrancy to the spectacular surroundings. At the end of a deep green gorge, at the foot of a formidable cliff sculpted by erosion, gushes the most beautiful river in the département: the Sorgue. Don't miss: the remains of the 14th-century Château, accessible via a steep path, and the 11th-century church of Notre-Dame and Saint-Véran. There's also the François Pétrarque Museum-Library, the Santon Museum, the Jean Garcin History Museum: 1939-1945, "The Call of Freedom", and the Underground World Museum. And don't forget the traditional paper mill with its paddle wheel, still in operation, canoeing down the Sorgue and the 18-hole golf course nearby.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
Walking, biking, hiking, kayaking and canoeing.
