Mas des Imberts is a hidden treasure – a beautifully renovated Mas designed in the traditional Provençal farmhouse style. Situated in the oak forest between the famous and quaint villages of Gordes and Cabrières d”Avignon, the house is set on seven private acres with sweeping views.
The owners have superbly decorated with taste, tenderness and passion, offering a very comforting welcome for all guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with the finest conveniences and also full of charm, inviting you or a chef to enjoy the preparation of every meal.
The beds and linens are of very high quality, as detailed comfort is of upmost priority here. Four bedrooms are found within the main house, as well as an added small room beyond the kitchen for a single nanny or teenager.
The “Petite Maison” is accessed by outdoor entrance, and is ideal for a couple who want a bit more space and privacy, or for a small family with younger children who can sleep in the open loft. It is equipped with its own small kitchen and private bath.
On the front terrace of the house, guests are awed by the expansive views, as well as the landscaped garden which seems to stretch to the Luberon mountains ahead of you. A large pool and pristine private tennis court put the finishing touches on the property. Enjoy a short 20-minute walk (1.5km) to the local village of Cabrières d’Avignon for a visit to the bakery, butcher or small grocer; or a beautiful 1-hour hike up to the village of Gordes. Walking paths are detailed in the house book upon arrival.
This beautiful property is located halfway from the villages of Cabrières d'Avignon and Gordes. This location is within easy reach of the villages of the Lubéron so adored by travel writers, among them Ménerbes, Lacoste, Goult, Bonnieux and Roussillon. Beaumettes and Coustellet, small villages with a variety of shops and small supermarkets, are less than ten minutes by car. The property is likewise well located for excursions beyond the Luberon. Aix en Provence lies to the south, the Côte du Rhône wine-producing region to the north, and the villages and restaurants of the Alpilles region to the southwest. The historic town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, once a center of the Provençal silk trade and now home to more than 200 antiques dealers and Provence's best-known open-air market, is a drive of less than 15 minutes away.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
