L’Aqueduc is a rare find – Over 6000 square feet of living space at the foot of the famous Les-Baux-de-Provence. Guests feel transported in time in this authentic stone farmhouse, while simultaneously enjoying modern decor and conveniences.
The spacious and private garden is perfect for spending long afternoons and evenings outdoors. Ample activities are found here for adults and children alike – from ping pong table to rooftop sun deck. Bedrooms here are cozy and spacious with great attention paid to comfort and convenience.
A variety of arcade games on the ground floor adds an element of fun and relaxation to the richly historic and authentic house. For extra comfort and peace of mind, a couple of guardians leave in an annex with an independant entrance at the back of the property and are here to assist when needed, whilst being extremely discreet.
The village of Les Baux de Provence is situated in the heart of the Alpilles son a rocky plateau 245m high. A brilliant view of Arles, la Camargue and the Alpilles can be seen from the look-out points! This immense and superb stone fortress is without doubt one of the "must-sees" on the Provencal tourist trail! Les Baux de Provence The village is officially classified and labelled as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". Its cultural heritage is exceptionally rich, with 22 architectural treasures classified as "Historic Monuments" (including the church, chateau, town-hall, hospital, chapels, houses, doorways... without counting items of furniture and a collection of paintings). Les Baux de Provence The village has been painstakingly restored and is now one of the most popular attractions in the region... (no matter what time of the year you visit, you will not be alone. Les Baux welcomes more than one-and-a-half-million tourists a year!). The 500 permanent residents must surely have the impression of living in a real-life museum! Les Baux de Provence The village can only be visited by foot and you will admire the ancient houses that have been carefully restored, beautiful Renaissance façades and several magnificent "hotels particuliers" which today serve as art galleries or museums. While wandering around you will come across many craft shops selling Provençal products and souvenirs... Food-lovers will soon discover that several restaurants at Les Baux boast international reputations... such quality dining is so hard to resist!!! You can not miss the "Citadelle des Baux" at the summit of the village. Les Baux covers 7 hectares and visitors can discover the main ruins of its dramatic past: the keep, Saracen towers, chapel, old war weapons... the history of Provence unfolds before your eyes amongst the rocks and stones.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
