This beautiful home and its surrounding gardens was one of the most exquisite places I have ever had the privilege to stay as a privileged visitor. It was seriously otherworldly….private, beautifully appointed throughout with lovely European antiques, ceramics, paintings, etchings, bookcases filled with all manner of wonderful books, comfortable beds, all en suite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen to satisfy the most particular cooks. And the expansive grounds were simply magical, all surrounded by an encircling stone wall. There were arbors covered with wisteria, little private sitting areas, hedges, rosemary bushes, roses and other seasonal flowers blooming… the air was full of their collective scents. Plus for children (four of our seven grandchildren joined us) there was a play area with swings, a boule court, a pool house with a ping pong table. The pool was covered during our stay as it was off season, but I can imagine that it would provide a perfect place to cool off during the summer months. There is so much more to describe in exquisite detail, but suffice it to say, La Bastide des Jardins was a dreamy place to stay in Provence for a special family vacation. I can’t recommend it more highly!

We had an amazing family and friend week-long celebration at Bastide De Jardins. The villa and the gardens are even more beautiful than the pictures - elegant and comfortable with every detail taken care of to enhance our experience. The caretaker and housekeeper were attentive and lovely to have around. The Only Provence staff worked out every detail for us. Their communication was clear and prompt. We highly recommend this lovely Bastide and Only Provence

The villa was nothing short of a fairytale - such beautiful furnishings and magnificent gardens. It was truly, a peaceful haven where we could relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence. Pierre was there to greet us upon arrival and was very gracious and showed us around. He was readily available if we needed anything. We asked for a few grocery items to be brought in before we arrived, and they took care of everything. The villa was very well maintained and cleaned for us every day (but Sunday) - which was such a lovely treat not to have to do a thing!!! Highly recommend - you will NOT be disappointed!

My family of four stayed at Bastide des Jardins for two weeks in June/July 2022 and had a wonderful time. Although we were a small group for a house of this size, we really utilized much of the house and property. There were so many areas for each of us to enjoy. The pool was wonderful and could accommodate those who wanted sun and those who wanted shade. The areas around the house had several places to sit and read and relax, and many different dining areas which we tried out each night. The kitchen is well equipped and we used the grill outside several times as well. The property itself is lovely and nice for walking. Overall, it is a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Rognes has all of the shops you need for essentials, and is located nicely for day trips into the Luberon. We would definitely stay here again!

It was truly one of the best vacations for each one of us ---- a unanimous vote. We actually hated to have to leave. The villa is gorgeous, the grounds are lovely, and the accommodations could not have been better. With the eight of us, there was plenty of room, and it was nice to have the ensuite bathrooms (8 women, you know!!). The reading materials available are extensive, and there were also a number of brochures with information on the surrounding areas, which were very helpful. The decor in the villa is also wonderful --- warm and welcoming ---- a delight to which to return. Patrick was a great help. He met us promptly on our arrival, and not only for showed us the facilities, but also made us reservations for a couple of restaurants, and was immediately available when we needed (gas canister for the stove). He gave us directions for groceries and for shops in Rognes and Lambesc. The maid was very friendly, and brought us croissants in the mornings, as well as keeping the rooms tidy. Speaking for all, we would give La Bastide des Jardins 5 stars. Having dealt with Only Provence, I would also give a 5 star rating. The website was easy to access, and had all the information we could possibly use. Your e-mail was also very inclusive and answered any questions we might have had.

We loved the setting and the house and both Patrick and Sylvie were most charming and most helpful. Would rate the property 5 stars. The only area of improvement that we would suggest is a better house book. When we have rented from other groups (for example Unique Home Stays in the UK or One Fine Stay), they have provided a house book with suggested markets, shops (and their opening times!), restaurants, nearby activities. Would have been extremely helpful to have this handy. Wonderful vacation and would definitely recommend this house to others.

This luxurious property is suited for 10 guests in five ensuite air-conditioned bedrooms, please note that an additional sixth ensuite bedroom is available at extra cost.

Rognes is a lovely bedroom community 20 minutes north of Aix-en-Provence. Located halfway between the sophisticated Roman city of Aix and the entry to the Luberon Mountain region, Rognes has a real country feel with rolling hills, a stone village, and different flowers and fields for every season. The landscape is sumptuous with the vineyards of the 10 surrounding wineries.

Getting Here

The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport, then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Aix-en-Provence TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You could plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Aix-en-Provence to Paris Gare de Lyon, and getting a cab to your hotel in the city.

Arrival:
Typical changeover day is Saturday, unless stated in the property overview – please inquire for an alternative arrival day.

Minimum Stay:
Most properties require a 1-week minimum stay - please inquire about shorter or flexible stays outside the summer months.

Services Included:
Final cleaning and any additional maid service listed on the web page.

Making your reservation:
These properties are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, before you reserve, you are required to review and sign a rental agreement for the villa (the“Rental Agreement”) within 48 hours of booking. We will send you the Rental Agreement via Docusign. The Rental Agreement explains in detail all of terms and conditions regarding the rental and use of the property in detail. We shall have no obligation to accept any reservations, unless the Rental Agreement is fully executed.

Payment:
After you have signed the Rental Agreement and filled out the appropriate information, as approved by us, a nonrefundable payment of 30%* of the Rental Fee (which price is defined in your Rental Agreement) must be received by us within five (5) days to confirm the reservation. The remaining 70% of the Rental Fee is due 60 days before the arrival date, and is also non-refundable. If reservations are made less than 60 days prior to the arrival date, then 100% of the Rental Fee must be paid upon the signing of the Rental Agreement. Please know that a failure to pay any portion of the Rental Fee as set forth above and in Rental Agreement can result in loss of the reservation of the villa and a termination of the Rental Agreement. We will confirm receipt of each payment and note any outstanding balance and due date(s).

Cancellation:
Only Provence has a no refund cancellation policy, unless specifically agreed with the owner. Should the Renter wish to postpone their stay, every effort will be made to offer them the possibility to reschedule at an alternative date, pending permission from the property owner. Failure to pay the final balance (which is due 60 days before arrival) or provide required information for the security deposit may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Clients are advised to consider Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation.
