Nestled in the heart of Provence, just a 10-minute walk from the historic village of Lacoste, this exceptional bastide welcomes up to fifteen guests into a world where time slows and beauty flourishes in every detail. Set within 2.5 hectares of landscaped grounds filled with lavender, olive trees, and centuries-old oaks, the estate offers a rare harmony of luxury, comfort, and authenticity.
Guests can enjoy an array of outdoor activities, from a private tennis court to a two-hole golf course, a driving range, a paddle court, and a shaded boules court nestled in the woods. Children are free to explore, with a play area featuring swings, a slide, and a trampoline. At the heart of the estate lies a heated pool, bordered by elegant sunloungers and a refined pool house—perfect for unwinding under the Mediterranean sky.
Several terraces wrap around the home, each catching the light at different times of day, offering peaceful spaces for dining, reading, or quiet reflection. Inside, the bastide combines traditional architecture with refined interiors: high ceilings, classic moldings, noble fireplaces, and spacious salons designed for every season.
Each of the eight ensuite bedrooms is air-conditioned and thoughtfully decorated, ensuring restful nights even during the warmest summer months. The home’s blend of historic charm and modern comfort creates a serene, welcoming retreat.
Just 10 minutes on foot from the village center, guests can easily access Lacoste’s charming restaurants, boutiques, and cultural landmarks. In summer, the region comes alive with festivals in Lacoste, Gordes, Avignon, and Orange, while local markets and Provençal traditions offer daily moments of joy.
Centrally located in the rolling hills of the Luberon Mountains near Lacoste and Ménerbes -- An ideal location for hikes, walks, cycling, touring or just relaxing. The famous château belonging to the Marquis de Sade is situated in Lacoste. In 1771 the Marquis fled from Paris to escape the scandals created by his erotic writing and outlandish behaviour (too liberal for the era). He came to Lacoste and sought refuge in the château which belonged to his grandfather. This huge 11th century château, partly in ruins, belonged to a professor who has been restoring it for more than 30 years. Today the château belongs to M. Pierre Cardin, the famous fashion designer. The château de Sade is not the only discovery to be made at Lacoste. The village has charming narrow streets, paved in "calade" stone and wandering around is a pleasant way to pass the time. You will come across beautiful old stone houses, some of which are being restored. Most are made from ochre, limestone and amateur geologists and history lovers will find it difficult to leave this engaging place.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
