Located in the charming village of Paradou in the foothills of Les Alpilles National Park, this exquisite home embodies the very essence of Provençal life, near boulangeries, cafes, and 10-minute walk from the famous Bistro du Paradou.
Le Mas Mirabelle features a warm and modern interior with air conditioning throughout ; large windows in the stylish living room flood the interior with natural light and provide direct access to the outdoors.
The ground floor also includes a fully equipped open kitchen and a master ensuite bedroom fitted with a king-size bed. On the first floor, guests can choose from a double or twin bedroom, accommodating in total up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms, each decorated in the same eye-catching contemporary style.
Outside, guests can dine under the wood-shaded terrace, or head across to the dazzling pool to cool down. The 16 meters long swimming pool takes pride of place in the elegant garden, and a flat lawn adds charm to it.
There are lots of interesting sights to see nearby, including Saint-Rémy-de-Provence at only 20-minute drive, home to impressive ancient Roman ruins, and Les Baux-de-Provence, one of France’s most historic sites. Whether exploring the local markets, cycling through lavender fields or hiking through the magnificent countryside, this region is sure to offer memorable activities for all ages.
Paradou is the charming name given to this tiny village situated between the Baux de Provence and Maussane les Alpilles at the foot of the Alpilles mountain range. Although this village may well ressemble Paradise, the origins of its name Le Paradou are much more down to earth... its name comes from the ancient windmills used by the weavers who lived on the banks of the Arcoule river. In the middle ages, the village was called St Martin de Castillon (not to be confused with the village in the Vaucluse). La Petite Provence du Paradou is understood to be one of the biggest creches in the world. This museum merits a detour as you can admire the work of some of the most talented Santon makers in Provence. Le Paradou is a delightful village filled with beautifully restored houses and colourful gardens. With its narrow, well-maintained streets, brightly painted shutters, restaurants decorated in Provencal style and tempting hand-craft boutiques, Le Paradou is a glorious example of Provence at its best !
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city
