Overview

Elegantly renovated stone farmhouse located in the coveted Luberon Mountain region, Villa Jas is in a quiet neighborhood setting overlooking olive trees and countryside only minutes drive from the popular tourist village of Gordes. This 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom house is ideal for families or groups of couples.

The villa is the ideal base from which to explore Provence. It has been renovated with the perfect balance of up-to-date amenities and authentic Provençal charm. The bright living room opens to a well equipped kitchen. All five bedrooms have AC and ensuite bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are situated on the ground floor.

The property is situated on a one-hectare (2.5-acre), slightly elevated terrain in a small hamlet of farmhouses near Gordes, and has a quiet countryside ambiance. One of Villa Jas’ most delightful features are its multiple terrace areas for enjoying leisurely meals or for lounging in the sun or shade. From the terrace and most rooms, views stretch over the Luberon Valley to the horizon.

Even with its country setting, there is a wide variety of quality restaurants and shops within a 10 minutes drive from the property.

Locale

Villa Jas is in the Gordes countryside 3 miles from the village within easy reach of the villages of the Luberon so adored by visitors--among them Ménerbes, Lacoste, Goult, Bonnieux and Roussillon. The property is well located for excursions beyond the Luberon: Aix en Provence lies to the south, the Côte du Rhône wine-producing region to the north, and the villages and restaurants of the Alpilles region to the southwest. The historic town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, once a center of the Provençal silk trade and now home to more than 200 antiques dealers and Provence's best-known open-air market, is the center outside Paris of antiques dealing and a drive of less than 20 minutes.

Getting Here

The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
