This stunning 450-square-meter property is ideally situated in the heart of the Alpilles National Park. You will find five bedrooms and baths in the main house, as well as two independent annexes with 2 bedrooms and baths apiece. There is ample comfortable accommodation for up to 14 persons, or for smaller groups needing a bit of privacy between living areas.

In the main house, one spacious living room, TV room, a semi-professional kitchen and dining room with fireplace opening onto a shaded terrace, offer fabulous spaces for larger groups to congregate. There is also a large air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom, overlooking a private terrace, on this first level. On the second floor, there are four air-conditioned bedrooms each with their own bathroom: a master suite and its spacious dressing room, a large double bedroom and two single bedrooms for children.

The two annex buildings are completely independent. The first annex is 100 square meters in size, and features one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with salon and small kitchenette. The second annex is 80 square meters and consists of a small kitchen, television sitting area and two double bedrooms.

Situated in the heart of the Alpilles, Saint Rémy is one of the "must-sees" in Provence. Surrounded by lush green perfumed valleys of olive groves and vineyards, its ancient streets are lined with beautifully restored old houses. While strolling through the narrow winding streets you will discover fantastic old fountains, shady squares, picturesque restaurants and elegant boutiques. The beauty of the countryside and the quality of light has inspired many artists, writers and painters. Without a doubt, the most famous was Vincent Van Gogh who produced more than 150 paintings of the countryside surrounding Saint Rémy de Provence. You can walk to the very same places painted by the artist and discover the mountain of St Rémy, fields of wheat and coquelicots (wild flowers), olive trees and cypress tress- all just as it was more than a century ago. Saint Rémy de Provence is a historic village built on one of the oldest archeological sites in Europe. Visitors can walk among the remains of the "Comptoir de Glanum" which was founded in the 3rd century BC, before control passed to the Romans under Julius Cesar. The ruins have seen the passing of several civilisations and you can visit the "grands Thermes", the long residential avenue, the temple and the natural spring of a true gallo-roman city, dating from 30 to 10 years before Christ.

Getting Here

The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
