Overview

La Feniere is located in the heart of the popular hilltop village of Roussillon, right next to the main square and the many restaurants, cafés, galleries and shops. Everything you need is just a short walk away.

The house was built in 1849, in the typical architecture of the Luberon. Perched on the hilltop, guests benefit from an exceptional panoramic view of Mount Ste Victoire, the famous mountain of Paul Cezanne‚ paintings, as well as the ochre quarries and surrounding vineyards.

The decor here, inspired by Provençal style, is warm and authentic, revolving around a fully equipped cathedral-ceiling kitchen. Outside, there is a large patio adorned with flowers, plants and trees. Two trellises allow you to have lunch or rest outdoors in the shade.

The small stone pool is perfect for cooling off at the end of a hot day. Despite its centrality in the heart of the village, guests enjoy total privacy here as well.

This is quite an idyllic Provence experience. Note, four-night rentals are possible at La Feniere from September through mid-June.

Situated in the Luberon, at the foot of the Monts de Vaucluse, the village of Roussillon is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is considered one of the most impressive villages in France - Roussillon is one of the "must-sees" in the Luberon, and is well worth a detour. Roussillon - Ocres hills Situated in the heart of one of the biggest ochre deposits in the world, Roussillon is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries. The red, yellow and brown shades of the earth form a striking contrast with the lush green pinetrees. The vivid blue of the Provençal sky and the exceptional quality of light make this a magical site. Roussillon - Ochre Facades It is like an artist's pallet, with the infinite combinations of colours varying from yellow to purple with all the shades of pink and red inbetween. Situated in the heart of one of the biggest ochre deposits in the world, Roussillon is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries. Roussillon - City hall You will become acquainted with Roussillon's unique natural history while walking along the ochre pathways. You can also learn about how the ochre is treated and used in the building industry by visiting the "Conservatoire des Ocres et des Pigments Appliqués", situated in an old ochre factory. Most impressive! As soon as you arrive in the village of Roussillon, you will be charmed by its atmosphere. Take the time to stroll around the picturesque maze of streets and squares. The ochre façades of the houses are magnificent... shades vary subtly from light yellow to dark red, set off by the brightly painted shutters and doors. From the base of the village to the summit of the Castrum and its splendid view, Roussillon is a delightful place to visit!
