La Farinette is a very special, authentic village farmhouse renovated by hand with great care and attention to detail. The house is situated at the end of a quaint road, just past the beautiful XVII century castle of the village of Rustrel.
Here you will enjoy the comforts of space and privacy, while also experiencing a true village atmosphere.
A huge century-old mulberry tree welcomes you at the entrance of the property and is a fixture between the main house and the garden which hosts the pool. All located within a 5-minute walk from the village with 3 cafés and restaurants, a famous bakery and a grocery store offering a variety of local products.
The house is organized around a large sheltered patio offering a peaceful and comfortable place to relax in the shade. This is where guests enjoy long aperitifs, lunches and dinners. In fact, there are several different terraces with unique atmospheres, to enjoy at different times of the day.
The renovation was done keeping as much authentic material onsite as possible – stones, beams, ironwork, etc., with the addition of modern comforts.
The large living area – about 900 square feet – is air-conditioned and includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and a comfortable living room with a fireplace. There is ample seating for all guests to enjoy time here together.
The genuine wine cellar has been preserved as a reminder of the property’s authentic past. Meanwhile, the WiFi works throughout the house, and there are two televisions for adults and children to enjoy simultaneously.
Let’s not forget the large pool and fenced garden – This area is a real treat, complete with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of shade or sun, depending upon your preference.
The views of the neighboring hills are beautiful, and there are several hiking trails starting right from the house, with one leading to the dramatic Ocher hills named the Colorado Provencal.
Here at La Farinette, you can truly relax and connect with the wonders of Provence.
Located in the quaint and quiet village of Rustrel, near Apt in the Luberon Mountains. Within walking distance to the bakery, cafés and restaurants of Rustrel. Sight seeing, hiking and cycling are the most popular activities.
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseille International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV (high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV (3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.
